Dutch experts to release first MH17 crash report

MH17 The first report into the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 is due to be released today, nearly two months after the airliner with 298 people on board crashed in eastern Ukraine.

The Dutch Safety Board, which was charged with leading the multi-national probe, said the preliminary findings will focus on details from the cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder, along with satellite and radar information.

The report will not assign blame for the downing.

The Boeing 777 was travelling from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur on July 17 when it crashed near Ukraine's border with Russia. Most of the passengers were Dutch, Malaysian and Australian.

Washington and Kiev accuse Moscow-backed rebels fighting in eastern Ukraine of downing the jet with a Russian-made surface-to-air missile system.
