QZ8501 Louise Sitharta was supposed to have a vacation here with her fiance before getting married in May next year.

However, her hope was dashed as her fiance, Alain, was on the AirAsia Indonesia's plane that went missing.

"My fiance and his family were in that plane. They had planned to have a vacation and I was supposed to meet him here.

"It was supposed to be his last vacation with his family before we were to get married," she told reporters when met near the waiting area at Level 3, Changi Airport Terminal 2, today.

 

The 25-year old Indonesian, took a different flight to Singapore at noon and was supposed to met Alain here.

Louise said Alain, 27, was travelling with his father and mother and three brothers.

"I am thinking positively and hoping that the plane will be found soon," she said, adding that there was nothing to do while waiting aimlessly.

Louise knew about the news on the radio about 11am on her way to Surabaya airport en route to Singapore.

Under the passengers' list manifest which was released, there is an Alain Oktavianus Siaun listed.

The QZ8501 flight, enroute from Surabaya to Singapore, was carrying 162 people on board including seven crew members.

The aircraft, which was scheduled to arrive at 8.30am today, lost contact with the Jakarta air traffic control tower at 7.24am this morning.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore in its statement, the aircraft was in Indonesian Flight Information Region (FIR) when contact was lost, more than 200 nautical miles southeast of the Singapore-Jakarta FIR boundary.
