YOURSAY ‘With that, PAS can later blame Pakatan for 'sacking' them.’

Face me in public, PAS sec-gen dares Guan Eng

Ferdtan: Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, don’t take the bait the ulama faction in PAS is laying out for you. This latest challenge by PAS secretary-general Mustafa Ali is an extension to the controversy started by its president Abdul Hadi Awang.

PAS started the issue deliberately, using the non-issue of local council elections in Penang to turn it into a racial one.

Hadi left nothing to imagination, thinking that many (meaning grassroots party-voting PAS members) may still be clueless; so he spelled it loud and clear that the May 13 riots may be the consequence.

We know what these ulama/Umno PAS leaders are up to. They use the never-fail Umno’s tactics; ‘fight’ in public with DAP (meaning Chinese) so that they get popular with their ignorant members.

So Lim, don’t give them the pleasure. We ask PAS why they are targeting Penang when Selangor under Muslim MB Azmin Ali has the same intention on local council elections?

A day ago, Azmin said the Selangor government is still committed to implementing local council elections. Mustafa, please invite Azmin to the debate too. No?

Guns 'n' Roses: My take is that the ulama faction in PAS is all-out to provoke Pakatan Rakyat to "sack" PAS, so that PAS can later blame Pakatan for 'sacking' them, and claim that PAS did not want to leave Pakatan. Doesn't PAS have any sense of honour and integrity?

KnockKnock: All these years, PAS secretary-general Mustafa Ali was trying to portray himself as the sober one in PAS trying to save the marriage of PAS and DAP in Pakatan. Now he had shown his true colours as to which side he is on.

Dear Mustafa, why save the marriage and ruin your life? Advise PAS to stand on its own feet. Give Pakatan ‘Talak 1’ and we hear of you no more.

Wg321: I hope Mustafa Ali not embarrass himself because he has no debating skills compared with Guan Eng.

I remember watching a debate on a video clip on YouTube between Mustafa Ali and Khairy Jamaluddin from Umno in Kota Bahru.

Khairy was vocal and dynamic in his presentation and during Q&A, Khairy was able to corner Mustafa Ali until he started to stammer in his answers.

It was a really pitiful sight to see him stammering. So it is best for Mustafa to find an excuse to withdraw himself from debating Lim, who is a skilled debater in Malay, English, Chinese and Hokkien.

Mustafa is like those Umno cybertroopers who do not have the language skills to win over the hearts and minds of Malaysiakini readers.

No B.S.: Please. Why debate with him? Debate with Hadi, the man who started the local council elections controversy.

Jiminy Qrikert: Mustafa says he will relay his version of PAS' position on local council elections in the debate. Hadi’s version earlier was that local council elections will lead to a repeat of May 13.

How many versions does PAS have on their position on local council elections? Will its deputy spiritual leader Haron Din come up with his own version later to challenge another DAP leader?

It looks like PAS is adopting the Umno tactic of spinning several versions of their party’s position on contentious issues till the layers get so thick that everyone is totally confused.

But PAS should know no matter how they twist issues, we will be crystal clear on one thing - we will not vote PAS come GE14.

4Malaysia: Why are these PAS leaders so silly? Mustafa, I thought you could have been one of the PAS leaders who could think straight, but I was mistaken. It seems you are as lost as Hadi and the ulamas.

You do not have public debates with fellow political allies. Even when DAP and PKR strongly disagreed with Hadi, they did not challenge Hadi to a public debate. Sort this out within closed doors.

Well Thats Fantastic: The PAS hierarchy are so busy screwing themselves they can't see that we are all watching in disgust. They should all retire in disgrace and spend the rest of their days praying for forgiveness.

Let the younger PAS rise up and fill their positions. The future belongs to them, not to the old and frail. You have had your chance.

Kuasa Rakyat: PAS leaders used to fight for the rakyat, they fought for Islam and justice, they fought against corruption. Nowadays, PAS leaders - the prime example of course is Hadi - appears to have lost all this.

He only fights for himself and his personal interests. They are no different from the leaders in BN parties.

Howzat!: Indeed, it’s time for DAP and PKR to quickly make a decision on the status of PAS in Pakatan. They can no longer ignore the issue.

Sali Tambap: Good. Bring it on. The public are entitled to know so that they can arrive at a decision of their own.

Soo Jin Hou: Talk about digging your own grave and jump in yourself. Next time when I vote, not only I will equate PAS with hudud, I will also remember PAS is against local government elections.

Oh well, thank you for clearing up the confusion, we are crystal clear on the stand of PAS now.
