No pardon for Ismail Sabri if he doesn’t repent

YOURSAY ‘The last thing any Malaysian want to hear is advice from him.’

Ismail Sabri: Anwar must repent before pardon

The Mask: Agriculture Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob, this is the second time you have committed a sin. First, it was against the Chinese traders and now against another human being.

You are really void of any human compassion, as you still think Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim's trial was fair when the whole world thinks it was a farce.

As for admission of guilt and the need to repent, why should Anwar when he knows that he is not guilty?

The appeal for pardon is mainly for compassionate ground, mainly due to his age and poor health. Wouldn't you want to do the same for your loved one?

Goldee: Ismail Sabri, it was so difficult for you to say sorry when you had uttered racist statements . Now you asked Anwar to repent first before he is given the royal pardon when he was jailed for fabricated charges.

You have said correctly that "normally" a prisoner would admit of his/her guilt and feel sorry for the crime he/she committed will seek to be pardoned.

In Anwar’s case, it is not "normal" so why should he repent for an offence which he did not commit?

Multi Racial: If I were Ismail Sabri, I would have kept my mouth shut. After making a big mistake and refuse to apologise, the last thing any Malaysian want to hear is advice from him.

Fair Play: It looks like Umno is prepared to see Anwar free. Hence all these talks about Anwar repenting first before seeking a pardon.

With the PM under constant siege from all directions, starting with IMDB (1Malaysia Development Berhad) to the ‘Band of Brothers’ (four of Abdul Razak Hussein's five sons seeking to protect his reputation) to Rosmah Mansor’s RM1,200 hairdo coverage by international media, the temperature must be rising uncomfortably fast and is becoming too hot for him.

Fair & Independent: Ismail Sabri is only a politician and a racist one at that. Have some respect for the Agong for he is the one who will decide on the pardon, not you.

Kalui 64: Ismail Sabri, if you do not apologise and feel sorry for your statement to boycott Chinese businesses, the Chinese in Malaysia will never pardon you. So no pardon if you do not repent.

Avatar 111: This holier than thou guy has still not apologised and repent for his racist statement made earlier and now he demanded other to repent before pardon.

Anonymous #59879079: Ismail Sabri, mind your own business and stick to planting sweet potatoes. Ask any Chinese and they will tell you what it means.

Casey919: I am 99.99 percent sure this hypocrite will repent to the Chinese voters on the eve of GE14.

Penang made more in 6 years than BN did in 50

Opah: What have Penang, Singapore and Hong Kong got in common? Their governments sell their land in a transparent manner and they have surplus budgets. Then they re-distribute their surpluses to their citizens.

Malaysia's federal government gives land away to its cronies and borrows billions to fund its spending.

Fair Play: Now we know why chief minister Lim Guan Eng is the most dangerous man in Penang. He did in just six years what they couldn't do in 50 years.

Justice Fairness: Of course, Lim Guan Eng sold or traded away more 10 times more land than BN ever did. Indeed, more than RM10 billion in that six-year period.

But is selling state land and assets to fund a annual state spending that has grown four-fold over six years a sustainable approach?

Idon'tlikekangkung: It is strange that people with monikers like ‘Justice Fairness’ are least concerned about justice and fairness. If they were concerned about justice, then they would have made sure that justice would be carried out without fear or favour.

And we all know that this is not possible in the police state that the country has become. And if there was true fairness, then Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan would be in jail as well.

I suppose that ‘Justice Fairness’ will soon change his/her moniker to something like ‘Truth and Transparency’ (or some other thing that would be about as far from the truth as the east is from the west).

But ‘Justice Fairness’ has been so totally corrupted and blinded by the greed that is this government that he/she cannot and will not want to fight for justice and see that there be real fairness.

Snake-in-the-grass: Yes sir, may you continue to rule for 5,000 years.

Justine Gow: Snake-in-the-grass, I am not sure whether you are being serious or sarcastic. If it is the former, it did sound like a subservient subject paying homage to an emperor in ancient China.

I don't believe that a 21st century person like you would think that Lim Guan Eng would be able to find the elixir of live which eluded Shih Huang Di to be able to lead Penang for 5,000 years or that there would be a Lim dynasty to rule Penang.

So, logically speaking, I think you are being sarcastic. Before anyone jumps on me, let me say that I do believe the current Penang government is doing well.

We should give it our support as long as it has the interest of its citizens in mind, but I do not believe in being blindly loyal to any individual or political party.
