I have the highest respect for those judges who have stuck to their guns and not capitulated to the perpetrators of injustice.
Some day we ought to hail them in a formal manner for indeed they are true sons and daughters of the nation and upholders of truth and justice.
They desire not public accolade but only that they be recognised as having stood up for justice and for that Malaysia will be forever grateful.
God bless these brave heroes of justice and may their names be indelibly inscribed in the corridors and courts of true justice.
Anonymous_ABG: The retired judges who are scandal free should speak up and expose the wrongdoings of their brother judges to maintain the dignity of the judiciary.
Justice Mohamad Hishamudin Mohd Yunus’ name will be remembered and his judgments will be quoted as precedents by the future generations.
SRMan: The then chief justice Eusoff Chin had indicated that the appeal in the Ayer Molek vs Insas case had no merit.
Insas was represented by senior lawyer VK Lingam who was caught holidaying together with Eusoff in New Zealand. What a joke. Sick joke!
Anon1: This stink was already released as early as late 1995-1996 via the ‘Diaries’, lambasting Eusoff or someone similar. Who did it then? I did it. Not me. But I did (former justice Syed Ahmad Idid).
Later came Justice NH Chan's book ‘Judging the Judges’ raising similar stink. Did the government of the day investigate? Nooooooo. Correct. Correct. Correct.

Headhunter: See, we knew all along that the judiciary was corrupt and subservient but no one was able to prove it because those involved were among benefactors, like leap-frogging others who were more qualified for promotion.
We have consistently witnessed how senior judges with impeccable career record were bypassed time and again.
Wira: The king should withdraw the Tun-ship from disgraceful people who tainted the noble responsibility they were entrusted.
Those who should be promoted were sidelined and those who should not even be allowed to continue were promoted. Bolehland has plenty manifestations of a failed state.

Odin: Yet another royal commission of inquiry (RCI) instituted but its recommendations not acted on?
It seems that in Malaysia, the term 'royal commission of inquiry' has been inappropriately used. The appropriate one ought to be 'royal comedic investigation'.
Magnus: Our RCI, as Odin has more appropriately defined here, reminds me of the usual suspects with very highfalutin management consulting reports that get done on various public sector organs and then, as is expected, get hot-aired first before being shelved, until the next time.
So, when's the next RCI there to, err...get hot-aired and shelved? I feel sorry already for the poor royal part of that RCI being ridiculed and tarnished. Like that tarnished Tun in that top ranked accolade.
CQ Muar: Judging from most of the comments contributed here in Malaysiakini (obviously many hailed from the legal profession), thus we can safely conclude and gauge how dishonourable and undignified the profession had declined.
Except for few who are still true to the hilt guided with/by clear conscience, the rest are nothing.
Regrettably, this is what and how the society in our country had degenerated, led by an ultra-corrupted government.
Until such time the scenario made concerted effort for change, it is worrisome and disturbing to envisage the future of the next generation(s). Pray for the Almighty's divine intervention.
JD Lovrenciear: Reading through all the comments by readers, there is only one conclusion, i.e. the judiciary's reputation has been soiled.
Until and unless errant judges are named and punished without dilly-dally and by the due process of the law, Malaysia will remain set to lose its real advantage in this region. What a disgrace.
