How can rakyat force the regime to come clean?

YOURSAY ‘Love your country and fight against corruption in any form.’

Will cabinet discuss elephants in the room?

SteveOh: Lim Kit Siang is a politician of the highest calibre in raising matters of public concern.

Malaysia will not be a modern, advanced and democratic nation if it continues to allow the corrupt whoever they are to get away with acts that would have indicted the president of the United States and other heads of government in the most advanced and democratic countries.

No one is above the law, not especially those given the mandate to govern. Those in government must not only not be corrupt but be seen to be not corrupt, and have not even a hint they are corrupt.

Brushing complaints of corruption under the carpet by the cabinet is a dereliction of duty that some might even conclude as tantamount to abetment by design or default.

Love your country and expose and fight against corruption in any form. Leaders must lead by example. Actions speak louder than words.

Boonpou: The rakyat have been asking the same questions within the confines of our homes or at ‘makan’ times with colleagues and friends for the longest time.

But the question remains: how can the rakyat force the ruling regime to come clean. Irregularities upon irregularities are part of Malaysia for decades now.

So, do tell us, Kit Siang, what must we do to force these modern-day pirates to answer our queries?

Odin: Honourable Lim Kit Siang, there is nothing for the dank, dark, dirty, rats-and-cockroaches-infested kitchen cabinet in Putridjaya to discuss.

Point #1: The debts of the 1Malaysia Demotic Brigands is none of the prime minister's business, as he does not supervise the group.

Point #2: The prime minister's family wealth was left to him by his father. The father, Abdul Razak Hussein, was a real miser if ever there was one.

He salted away every cent he had earned from the time he was a toddler, because he foresaw that his eldest son and future daughter-in-law would behave like a maharajah and a maharanee and spend accordingly. Over time, the money had multiplied faster than rabbits breeding.

Point #3: The national and international criticisms of judicial independence is ‘utter rubbish' started by Anwar Ibrahim, the Chinese, Christians, Jews and the Mossad.

Satisfied, honourable minister?

Anonymous_1391693662: You can ask anything you want, we don't have the mood to answer all that for now, as it will fade off over time.

Malaysia still lagging in Internet connectivity

Appum: Stephen Ng, thanks for bringing this issue up as I am not so technically savvy. But I can feel the exploitation we have faced as Internet subscribers from the monopolistic nature of how business is done in this country.

My foreign friends and relatives have been pointing out to us how slow our Internet speed is and yet the charges are almost the same as theirs, dollar to dollar (sometimes ever lower than ours).

If the government of 57 years had been efficient and effective in managing this nation we would be much, very much ahead of many nations. All they do is play up race and religion to divide and rule.

They don't look into problems and seek solutions, instead they see problems and seek to blame others for them.

SteveOh: "TNB does not allow us to work at night for safety reasons.”

Huh? What happens if a storm disrupts power supply? I say send those TNB people to learn how to restore power supply whatever the time and conditions in countries like Australia or Japan. What a lame excuse.

Anonymous #83834503: You know, for all the not-so-pretty things about the good old doc Mahathir Mohamad, he had the brains and the vision. The others couldn't see what he visioned so when he left, they just didn't know what to do.

Fair&Just: No, they are not clueless. In fact, they are expert in ensuring the speed are slow so that they can keep telling the rakyat to pay for faster speed and on and on.

Everyone using the Internet must have received calls from the telcos to upgrade. Is this a corrupt regime or what?

Anonymous #70881335: Almost without exception, all the telco companies are found wanting in their services and promises. For example, the current 4G service does not live up to its promises.

We, the consumers, must continue to complain until we get the service we deserve.

Gaji Buta: In line with the current trend of gradual Islamisation of the country, the Internet speed may be intentionally kept slow to discourage the believers from downloading porn.
