Mixed reaction to no-show for Kita Lawan

YOURSAY ‘Guan Eng is now CM and he should behave accordingly.’

'Too busy with work' CM to skip Anwar rally

Gggg: Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, no problem. Many of us also need to skip because we need to do extra work to prepare for the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Furthermore, hot weather, water cannon, threat of arrest are all bit too much to bear for Anwar Ibrahim's sake.

Sabahan: I totally agree with Guan Eng. If he is expected to attend rallies held outside his state and to forgo his duties as the chief minister, then all kinds of accusations will be levelled at him.

He has got his priorities right and that is to serve the people and not to make himself popular at any cost. Well done, Guan Eng!

Anonymous_1421983529: Guan Eng, never forget that Anwar is the one who glued the three divergent and opposing parties to form the Pakatan Rakyat which captured five states in the 12th GE.

And Putrajaya actually fell to the Pakatan at the 13th general election (GE13) but it was robbed of victory by the unscrupulous regime.

All other functions can be put on standby. The priority is to free Anwar, the innocent soul and the champion for all Malaysians.

Basically: I think this is the right thing to do. Guan Eng is now CM and he should behave accordingly. There are more than enough DAP leaders to attend the Kita Lawan rally.

At best, he can issue a statement in support of the rally. You wouldn’t expect the PM to show up at an Umno rally, would you?

Likewise, regardless of party position, Selangor MB Azmin Ali would not be faulted if he chose to stay clear.

Malaysia is Doomed!: Your opposition leader is in jail and you think distributing angpows is more important? I can’t understand nor comprehend your excuses, Guan Eng. Are you becoming fat and complacent like those Umno people, too?

Pputeh: Malaysia is Doomed!, what about 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB). Please save us this distraction. Our currency has fallen and you’re more interested in Guan Eng. Please have your priorities right.

Malaysia is Doomed!: Pputeh, I think we the silent rakyat have become desperate because everything about Malaysia is wrong.

The 1MDB, the Altantuya Shaariibuu murder, the weakening currency, the sputtering economy, GST, racism... We are fast going down into the abyss. It’s a symbolic action to come out and support the opposition.

I know people are tired and fatigued, but if you don't stand up for this, no one else will.

Snake-in-the-Grass: Anwar is a gone case. Look forward and try something new. The country is still a democracy and the 47 percent still have lots of strength.

Ckck: Time to wake up, people. This is showtime. Let these politicians stay in their comfort zone. Let them miss the lead and regret it.

PKR veep downplays 'too busy to rally' issue

Kim Quek: I salute you, PKR vice-president Tian Chua, for continuing to be the standard bearer of reformasi all these years.

Years of official status and prestige as a parliamentarian have not diminished your passion and self-sacrificing capacity to always stand at the forefront fighting for justice and for what is right.

As for those who may find it inconvenient to participate in tomorrow’s rally, just compare your inconvenience with the sacrifices and suffering Anwar has willingly gone through so that the flame of hope can continue burn and all Malaysians will have a better future.

Final Count Down: It concerns all true Malaysians, it is a collective responsibility to fight for a clean and just Malaysia.

SultanMydin: Well said, Tian Chua and Kim Quek. I can't be at the rally as I am past 70, but my soul and heart are with you all. Kita Lawan, ada macam-macam cara.

Fair&Just: Tian Chua, we thank you on behalf of the future generation for at least we tried to give them a better government and a better place to live in.

Sodom Me Sodom You: Let the rakyat take charge of this as we search our conscience. Every individual who feels compelled to gather in solidarity must do so.

We are not tools of politicians from any side of the playing field. The people must be the third force before politics becomes the destruction of us all.

We have seen many repeats of this sick and tired drama. The politicians will play the fiddle as our nation burns.
