YOURSAY ‘No wonder thieves and robbers are having an easy time.’

'Sack IGP' banner awaits top cop near Bukit Aman

Hibiscus: Inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar's behaviour has given the rakyat the perception that he is using his position as IGP to achieve his personal and political objectives, instead of carrying out his duties according to the law.

He has even blatantly gone against the order of the court. Instead of helping to ease tension in the country, he has created more. He says things which are not for an IGP to say.

Does he know the law? Does he know his job? Above all, the IGP’s post must be given to a professional, one who places the law above his personal agenda.

Certainly, by his behaviour, Khalid has not shown himself to be a person worthy to hold the position of IGP. I think this is the first time we see people demonstrating to demand for the removal of an IGP in Malaysia.

To safeguard the good name of the IGP, Khalid should either be professional in carrying out his job or request for optional retirement from the home minister.

CQ Muar: Somewhere, sometime, somehow such a reaction will eventually take place. This country is full of wrong leaders at the helm, and they must be removed.

With a prime minister who indulges in extravagance abusing the nation's coffers, allegedly linked to the Altantuya Shaariibuu murder, and a lackadaisical attitude towards the nation's woes, etc, he must go.

As for Khalid, this subservient ‘top’ cop must be fired - the sooner, the better it is for Malaysia.

A word of caution to those who gatecrash and self-invite themselves at this Saturday’s PM Najib Razak's daughter's wedding, please do so discreetly and with self-restraint - free of violence as we are all, regardless of race or religion, peace-loving citizens.

Rick Teo: He is the worst IGP in the history of Malaysia. Together with Najib, they form the worst pair a country can have as PM and police chief.

Kangkung: Dream on. I think Khalid is the best loved IGP for Umno because of his ruthless efficiency at keeping any opposition to the government and Najib in check.

Instead of removing him, Umno will keep on extending his service.

Dont Just Talk: Indeed, with the backing of Najib and for doing all of Umno Baru’s dirty work of harassing Pakatan Rakyat leaders and arresting NGO and social activists, how can you expect Khalid to step down?

Oh Ya?: For all the good things he has done for Umno he won't be sacked, otherwise he would have been sacked a long time ago when he was ruled by a court of law for covering up custodial death in police lockup.

Thana55: Have you ever heard a top cop making such 'noises' and totally alienating the public whom he is supposed to serve?

RakyatBiasa: Kita Lawan, you brave people. Your love and patriotism for the country is sincerely appreciated by the rakyat who cannot tolerate a corrupt and dictatorial regime. God be with you and we, the rakyat, thank you.

Apa Ini?: Yes, indeed, they are brave, given the many who have been arrested time and again. We shall overcome for the love and good of the nation.

Idon'tlikekangkung: To all these brave people, well done and good on you. The IGP may turn the table over and say it’s sedition.

But then with this crazy regime, anything said against them is considered seditious.

Ib: The country is not short of capable people. It is just short of capable people when you restrict your choices to sycophants and yes men.

Cops to monitor all social media to curb sedition

Anonymous$&@?: "I have a total of 126,000 police personnel to check round-the-clock on all writings, postings and various activities on Twitter and all other social media," said the IGP.

A total of 126,000 able bodied Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) staff assigned to sit in front of a laptop 24 hours a day, seven days a week?

Either Khalid was misquoted or the priorities of apportioning PDRM’s humanpower have changed drastically.

Wait, the news didn't mentioned there is another half on active duty shadowing, tailing and recording the movements of opposition MPs and NGO activists.

No wonder, thieves and robbers in Malaysia are having an easy time plying their trade. And the poor citizens have to resort to hiring private guards to guard their gated communities.

Why? All because of misplaced priorities by the PDRM.

Smer: In fact, if I have my figures right, isn't that figure 100 percent of the police force?

JomUbahUbah: No wonder our crime is so high. The police force has no time to patrol the roads and streets.
