What expertise does MACC man in TBH case have?

YOURSAY ‘You meant making sure the witness never walks out of MACC office?’

Minister: MACC man in TBH case has rights, too

CQ Muar: For someone who hails from a highly corrupted government, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Razali Ibrahim is certainly adding insult to injury by promoting an alleged murder suspect.

The justifications he fabricated to protect Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officer Hishamuddin Hashim sounded absurd, ridiculous and preposterous.

He is sitting in the PM’s Department and drawing a high salary as deputy minister, contributing virtually nothing. What a sheer waste of taxpayer's money.

Little wonder PM Najib Razak holds world record as PM of a country with an overcrowded pool of ministers and deputies. It’s an absolute waste of public money.

Mosquitobrain: "Holding back MACC officer Hishamuddin career will result legal implication and loss of expertise," said Razali.

What expertise? I am very sure we can find many people even better qualify than this MACC officer.

Southpaw: His expertise? You meant lying through his teeth and making sure the witness never walk out of MACC office?

KayL: Yes, Hishamuddin really has the kind of expertise which must be propagated in the interest of those who have to stay in power by hook or by crook.

Vgeorgemy: Why the Umno minister is so concerned about this particular person while they block the promotion of so many good professional bureaucrats in the name of religion, gender and race. Something is fishy here.

Ipohcrite: If Razali gave this sort of gobbledegook excuse as a manager in my company, I would fire him in an instant.

We certainly don't need to retain Hishamuddin's expertise unless the MACC is planning to have another witness like Teoh Beng Hock (TBH) plunge to his death while being interrogated at their headquarters.

YF: Corruption, incompetence, deaths, racism, arrests, silence, murders, falsehoods - the list of sins of the current administration speaks volumes of an incompetent administration from the top right down to its executives.

This is obviously the worst bunch of leaders that the nation has ever experienced.

Basically: This would not be so outrageous if the MACC wasn’t under Integrity minister Paul Low, who used to champion transparency and good governance as a NGO man.

The court clearly said Hisham has a hand in Teo's death... in a private firm, any officer in this situation should be suspended until the probe is complete.

But this man was promoted and still remains despite the royal commission of inquiry (RCI) and the Court of Appeal (COA) - that is two separate indictments.

Is this good governance, integrity minister Paul? Wouldn’t it be in the interest of transparency and good governance not to be seen to be favouring someone who has a huge finger pointing at him until he is irrefutably exonerated?

Would Paul Low hire me for a director’s job if I have some case pending against me as big as this, though not yet found guilty, I wonder.

Avatar_3e8a: The only reason why Hishamuddin was not charged was because the government refused to charge him in spite of overwhelming findings to the contrary by two of the most esteemed institution in our justice system, the RCI and the COA.

For the same government to then say that since he was not charged, it would be legally wrong not to promote him is hypocrisy in its highest form.

Even worse, it’s a sad indictment on us as citizens of Malaysia, that in a democratic society, how apathetic we are.

Chee Hoe Siew: I believe Razali means that the MACC has the right:

1. To abuse their power as corruption investigators to go fishing and trying to create evidence to incriminate opposition.

2. To extend the detention of a witness so as to psychologically torture him to give them the "evidence" they want.

The minister missed the point altogether and intentionally divert attention. We need the MACC to be accountable for its action and not having another department to help it cover up.

If there is not accountability, then how are we to know if MACC is a responsible entity who do its job diligently?

Keturunan Malaysia: That the family of the late TBH is in mental pain grieving deeply for their loved one and Hishamuddin purportedly being the cause (directly or indirectly) of TBH death is being 'promoted'.

Even a forgotten hero like you, I would not have wish that you were to suffer the same suffering as that of the family of TBH. So, if you have nothing better to say, please say nothing.

Tikusmati: So a suspected fraud of RM2,000 deserved such kind of interrogation - 24-four hours of continuous questioning?

Based on this alone, the person is not fit to be promoted because he did not exercise and apply his judgement rightly considering the alleged offence.

Avatar_3e8a: It’s only in Malaysia where the illogical becomes the logical and the logical becomes the illogical. What is to become of us?
