Umno’s fate - Putrajaya or Sg Buloh prison

YOURSAY ‘That's why they need draconian laws to keep themselves in power.’

'Mahathir admits to Umno's secret crimes'

Kingfisher: This 'ticket to jail' alert call by former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad, and now being discussed as an admission and confession, underlies one philosophical adage that you can fool some of the people all the time, all of the people some of the time but cannot fool all the people all the time.

But down to real life reckoning many, if not most, Malaysians have had a strong suspicion and some even an absolute conviction that the fabric of responsible and honest governance has been riddled with practices anathema to accountability, including abuse of public finances, corrosive influences on public institutions and indulgent acquisition of personal/family wealth disproportionate to legitimate means of livelihood.

For reasons peculiar to Malaysian society and its regard or disregard for institutions of governance, the people at large were rendered ineffective in mobilising their grievances against bad governance into concerted action to remove the defaulters.

Muscular dystrophy is a cause and consequence of this plight.

Headhunter: That's why they need draconian laws to keep themselves in power because losing means prison life.

Make sure one of them occupy PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim's current cell and "enjoy" the same facilities provided when it come to pass. That way they wouldn't dare to complain about being badly treated by the new government.

Remember what many of us said - the same draconian laws that Najib is trying to implement can also apply to BN when they become the opposition.

Moontime: Mahathir and his cronies should atone for their sins in making Malaysia walk through this path of mediocrity, financial mess and economy crisis.

Although he seems to be in the opposition good books lately, never forget that this man is a wily politician and able to change sides as quickly as the wind blows whenever the situation is in his interest.

The only way to save Malaysia from further plunging into the abyss is to elect Pakatan Rakyat into power. They have all the right leaders with intelligence, knowledge and capability to lead this country.

Obviously this won't go down well with the ‘macais’ who prefer to comment emotionally, using vulgar words and cursing incessantly, lacking concrete points to rebut the opposition, because we know they have succumbed to the 'bodoh virus' circulating from their leaders.

Pity these ‘macais’ who will be forced to play the role of the opposition once Pakatan takes over Putrajaya.

But I'm sure Pakatan leaders won't immediately go on a witch hunt.

Dont Just Talk: The leaders of Pakatan and NGOs must ensure that the delineation exercise is fairly/correctly drawn up by the Election Commission (EC) to stop gerrymandering so that there is ‘one person, one vote’ in the 14th general election.

Just do it right, and should Malaysians be cheated a second time, we should shame the EC commission for our failed democracy.

Anonymous_3e86: Indeed, BN will do all they can, at all cost, to stay in power. It's a do-or-die mission for them, even if it means ruining the country.

This is because when they lose, they will have to run for their dear lives. Some may even be heading for Kazakhstan...

Dr M's blog readership triples as he assails PM

Clongviews: Fortunately or otherwise, there is still TDM (Mahathir) who can still put pressure on the PM and demand explanations.

Whether he can get Najib out is another matter. But he has caused panic within Najib’s circle, which is now seeking support everywhere - both young and old. Perhaps TDM is keeping his best for the last.

Proarte: It never ceases to amaze me how naive and politically stupid Malaysians are. Mahathir's desire to get rid of Najib is purely out of self-interest.

He is the father of corruption and is an incorrigible liar. He has so many skeletons that would fill a multitude of closets, and here we are treating this Machiavellian racist crook as some kind of hero with an unimpeachable track record of good governance.

Mahathir is doing this because he is not confident that Umno will win the next elections with Najib and his wife running the show, given the legion of scandals which have occurred under their watch.

Whatshappenning: I don’t see anything wrong when Dr M put forward those questions on the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu because those were the same questions that the rakyat have been asking but were swept aside.

And the rakyat also do not see the logic why some politicians are requesting the present MB of Kedah to resign if he does not openly support the present PM.

AkuBangsaMalaysia: We are all waiting impatiently for the next cannonball from Tun M. This is just like a serial soap drama and we can see the stress on Najib’s face whenever he appears on TV.
