Congratulations! You have survived the first month of the Goods and Services Tax – or have you?

In the week leading up to the implementation of the GST, Malaysiakini sought your input on your monthly expenses.

We asked you how much you spent on things that you cannot do without – food, shelter, transportation and the cost of raising children.

More than 1,000 of you generously gave your time to contribute to our survey, and agreed to track your expenses in the following weeks with the onset of GST.

We have sent a follow up survey to those who responded earlier, to the email address provided.
