Aftershocks continue to rock Sabah

Several weak earthquakes have been recorded today in the vicinity of Sabah, following the unprecedented earthquake in Ranau last Friday.

According to Bernama , a weak earthquake, with a magnitude of 3.0 on the Richter scale, occurred at 7.35 am today in Kota Belud, Sabah, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department.       

A statement issued by the department said, the epicentre of the earthquake was located at 6.2 degrees north and 116.5 degrees east, about 25km southest of Kota Belud.       

The tremors were also felt in Ranau, the statement added.   

Meanwhile another quake with a magnitude of 3.2 on the Richter scale, occurred 90km northwest of Labuan, Sabah today.      

The Malaysian Meteorological Department in a statement said tremors were felt in Ranau in both the 8.40am quake and the one off Kota Belud.
