Utusan, what’s porn is if RM4.2b creamed off

FREE YOURSAY Utusan , it’s taxpayers’ money, they have a right to know about it.’

Utusan attacks Malaysiakini’s ‘ WSJ porn’

Patriot1: Utusan Malaysia is really rubbish. There is nothing pornographic about the Wall Street Journal's ( WSJ ) report. It's about RM4.2 billion worth of taxpayers’ money, and the taxpayers want to know what happened to it.

WSJ is not controlled by the Malaysian government, and the public wants to see transparent reporting instead of skewed and selective reporting.

If Premier Najib Abdul Razak feels the WSJ has misreported, by all means sue them. Let both parties produce their evidence in court and see who is lying.

Vijay47: So right on cue, we can almost set our clocks by it. When the going gets really desperate, desperate measures are called for, and what better approach than using good old Islam. Race no longer carries that punch of yore, and rulers?

Nah, not with that guy from Johor waiting to let fly with a whack or two. So it has to be religion. It is a bit strange though that Utusan links Islam with porn, but I would let that ride. Hey! Utusan knows best.

Being brought up on an almost exclusive daily diet of it, Utusan 's familiarity with porn and porn stars is legendary and it is only to be expected that they would stay with the tried and true.

All the same, I find it rather peculiar that in criticising the ungodly publications, Utusan offers no substance to buttress its stand save the repetition of the usual adjectives.

"Foreign influence and guided by hidden hands" is getting a bit tiresome, vapid, and so yesterday, but when it comes to clichés, I suppose we have to hand it to Utusan .

Sali Tambap: US$700 million allegedly went into a prime minister’s private account. That was indeed news, a scoop, and WSJ reported it. It is not often that kind of thing happens and therefore is worthy of news, internationally.

Unfortunately for Malaysia, our premier got famous for the wrong reasons. And how did Utusan miss it? Calling WSJ pornography looks more like jealousy, don't you think?

Tell the Truth: So what's new? Bankrupt of argument, Utusan once again plays the religious card. You mean stealing from the people is acceptable? A bunch of crap writers from Utusan who shamelessly call themselves journalists.

Anonymous_1393313516: I don't understand why everyone is trying to protect the prime minister. The prime minister only needs to show a copy of his bank account and prove everybody was wrong.

The prime minister instead said, "I never used the money for personal gain." What does this statement even mean?

Anonymous_1423808262: Utusan can spin anyhow till kingdom comes and it wouldn't help Najib one bit. You only need AmBank and Bank Negara to issue a two-line statement denying the existence of the USD700 million on Najib's account with back-up evidence and WSJ/Sarawak Report will be in trouble.

If such simple measures cannot be undertaken in a short time, it only reinforces the public perception that WS /Sarawak Report must be right.

Pahatian: When all is lost, Umno cum Utusan will play the race and religious card. Why the need to mention 'Islamic leadership' and 'Islam-led government'? Trying to fan religious hatred and duping the rural folks? Please try something better.

Fair Play: With friends like Utusan , Umno doesn't need enemies.

Mushiro: Who is actually working hand in hand with foreigners to topple the country’s “Islamic leadership"? Is it Malaysiakini or Mahathir? Najib claimed it is Mahathir and Utusan claimed it is Malaysiakini .

Jaguh: Foreign elements - by the way, it is the foreign elements who will expose wrongdoing. No Malaysian has the gumption to do so. For fear of everything local here. You know what I mean.

Anonymous_1388029052: What is so "Islamic" about the leadership when there is rampant corruption and abuse of power? You mean Utusan is proud of such political leadership?

Sali Tambap: Whatever Utusan says about the WSJ , probably its credibility is much lower than WSJ . How many times and how much money Utusan has lost in paying respondents in court cases being lost as a result of their false reporting?

That in itself shows what gutter journalism they practice. As usual they resort ad hominem against WSJ instead of rebutting the issue objectively. Unfortunately, it often works with their audience who is often quite allergic to anything perceived as anti-Islam.

Ardena Kasutir: What else do you expect Utusan to print?

Alex Ferguson: Islamic leadership? Seriously? Do they think the Malaysian public is stupid? WSJ is a highly respected publication worldwide. Who in this country respects Utusan ?

Malaysia ku: Notice the surreptitious manner in which Utusan uses the religious adjective "Islamic" to describe the premier's position, which should rightfully be for all Malaysians?

When all else fails, they use religion to justify the means. As if God can't distinguish between right or wrong. If that strategy fails, then in come the Zionists.

And even if that doesn't succeed to fool the rakyat, there is still their bogeyman, Anwar. And if even that is untenable, all manner of excuses that only Umno can think off will be shamelessly propagated.

Mohican: Anyway, Malaysia is a secular state, ok?

Justine Gow: Yeah, corruption is like pornography. So who is involved in pornography here? Not Malaysiakini or WSJ . Can a Malaysiakini report on someone committing a crime be said to be criminal?

Lukesky: Wow, when did stealing US$700m of public funds become about Islamic leadership...just curious how Utusan came to this perverted view of Islam or is it just blind support for its political masters?

Wong Lu Shin: This is interesting. It means that Utusan is still on Najib's side in Umno's internal disputes.

Anonymous_1421806811: Isn't it strange that Utusan and Umno's cybertroopers are specifically targeting Malaysiakini ? I am not sure the size of Malaysiakini's readership but I am sure it is less than Utusan's, which probably numbers hundreds of thousands.

If Utusan feels Malaysiakini is a threat, could it be because Malaysiakini's readers are professionals with independent mindsets who write and argue logically while Utusan readers are emotional, brainwashed over the years and tend to believe all the garbage written by the editors?

Chiak Boey-Liao: These people have got sex on their minds all the time. The pornography is in government - theft, mismanagement, corruption.
