The 284 mud flood victims from 66 families are still at the Kem Bina Negara evacuation centre in Kundasang as at 6am this morning.

Head of the public relations unit of the Sabah Fire and Rescue Department Mohd Affendy K Ramin said it will continue to monitor the flood-affected areas to ensure the safety of other residents.

Although the mud flood situation in Kundasang was improving, the victims choose to stay at the evacuation centre, fearing unpredictable weather conditions.

Meanwhile, Mohd Affendy said a water tanker was delivered to Ranau Hospital at 8am to meet water supply needs.

“Water supply is also being sent to areas in need of water to accommodate the limited supply,” he added.
