Crown prince should condemn fracas in Johor

YOURSAY ‘Does Johor royalty condone this thuggery by Najib's rowdies?’

Thugs attack DAP event, hurl bowls at Kit Siang

Ferdtan: Obviously this is an orchestrated attempt by gangsters with links to Umno to stop Lim Kit Siang from talking to the people of Johor.

Though it may seem that it is about the worry of DAP’s making further inroads into Johor, Umno’s Malay heartland, there is more than meets the eye.

Possibly they wanted to distract the attention away from PM Najib Razak’s explosive issue of RM2.6 billion remitted into his personal bank account by creating a subtly racial turmoil in Johor.

We demand the IGP (inspector-general of police) to call for immediate action to arrest the troublemakers to show he is neutral in politics.

Can Johor be so lawless that a group of gangsters can disrupt an event in broad daylight? Can the tourists still visit Johor; is it safe?

If nothing is done by the authorities, this may be interpreted as a ‘institutionalised’ gangsterism condoned by the BN government.

Pemerhati: This is one of Umno’s regular nasty and dirty strategies which must have the full backing of PM Najib Razak and other top leaders.

The best clue that such incidents are Umno-backed came after the nasty cow’s head incident when Najib’s cousin Hishammuddin Hussein entertained the thugs after the incident. Several nasty incidents also took place in Penang against its chief minister Lim Guan Eng.

The strongest clue that these incidents were organised and carried out by Umno-paid thugs was when the police stood by and let the thugs wreak havoc. Now Najib and Umno are carrying out a repeat performance against Lim Kit Siang in Johor.

The biggest danger is that if Najib gets very desperate after all the revelations against him regarding the many dubious and crooked deals, and he feels that he might lose power, he may even decide to go much further and start a May 13-type incident so as to declare an emergency and thus continue to stay in power.

Sali Tambap: Will we see any concerted effort against this vile act? I will not bet my ringgit, as small it is, on this.

Perhaps as usual, an obligatory statement be made, saying like maybe they did it because they were provoked, though it was wrong for them to do what they did.

There would be a promise of looking into it and that would be the last of what we hear of it. This reminds us of what the Johor crown prince said - no punishment for a crime if it is committed by “members of a certain organisation”.

Abasir: Does the Johor royalty condone this thuggery by Najib's rowdies? Or is it no different from the royals in the other states who will speak only when their interests are threatened?

Will TMJ (Johor crown prince) or his father summon the MB, whose supporters planned and executed this attack?

Mosquitobrain: I was told Johor MB Khaled Nordin is a no-nonsense guy. We believed the MB knows who are the culprits and punished them as the incident took place in none other than his former parliamentary constitutency, Pasir Gudang (he is now assemblyperson for Permas, which is one of two state seats under Pasir Gudang).

Why are Umno members in Pasir Gudang are so afraid of DAP?

LKT: This is indeed pure political thuggery. It is so obvious these are paid samseng sent in by Umno leadership feeling insecure by the presence of DAP (who must be doing a lot of good work).

The fact that these bunch idiots have been used showed that the level of political maturity they possessed. For a few lousy ringgit, they brought shame to their ‘bangsa’ and ‘agama’.

Ardena Kasutir: As a Muslim, I'm totally fed-up with these arrogant mobs. It’s fasting month and such action is totally un-Islamic.

Anonymous_1421806811: This is what Umno members have become; intolerant, arrogant and downright hooligans. How stupid can they be to associate LKS (Lim Kit Siang) with communism. Don't they know the ideology is dead in the world?

They may be Muslims but their behaviour can hardly be claimed Islamic in this holy month of Ramadan. They are nothing but a bunch of thugs who have no respect for anything, neither race nor religion.

I wonder if Najib, even if he is innocent of all the allegations hurled against him, will be proud of the behaviour of this group of morons. I hope the police will take stern action against them. We should stand firm that this behaviour has no place in our society.

Dr Suresh Kumar: Whether LKS is a Chinese chauvinist or a communist is immaterial, he has a right to speak in this free and democratic nation. There is no room for hooliganism and uncivilised behaviour.

These Muslim thugs have defaced the sanctity and spirituality of the Holy month of Ramadan and brought shame to other Muslims. Kudos to the police force for doing the right thing. Now please charge all these thugs in a court of law.

Citizen No.26: This is only a tactical diversion. More diversions will come to distract the public from the real hot issue involving the PM’s bank accounts.

Isana: Afraid they are, Umno in their stronghold. They know that the grassroots in their bastion are restless; GST, 1MDB, Mara, Tabung Haji. Day by day, their own members are not happy and can't cope with the high cost of living.

So in the name of defending race and religion, mobs are gathered to deal with the 'outside instigators'. I sensed fear in them, for they too can sensed that their stronghold will not hold for long.

Anonymous$&@?: 50 years of Umno rule has now evolved a breed of ‘kurang ajar’ supporters who has been fed with lies and half-truths.

Oh Ya?: This Umno mob is a daily affair in Penang. It seems to have spread to Johor. It only serves to show that Umno is scare of DAP. But why the ‘ketuanan’ is afraid of this particular political party made up of ‘pendatang’?

Is it because the Malay grassroots have awakened to the fact that Umno's brand of politicking is self-serving?
