Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim has urged the people of the state not to be driven apart by those who use the "divide and conquer" strategy.

In his latest Facebook post, he said, "My advice to you all is that let us not be divided just because certain quarters don't like to see us united."

He added there are also certain quarters who are deliberately being provocative by making statements such as why not "Bangsa Malaysia" instead of "Bangsa Johor".

He noted that a lot of outsiders and various parties are uneasy with the fact that Johoreans stand united.

"From the time of my forefathers, we the Malays, Chinese and Indians have always regarded ourselves as 'Bangsa Johor'," he said.

He added this began since 1885, even before the formation of Malaysia.

"We are proud of our history. We don't disturb anyone. This is our heritage and history.

"If you want to be proud of calling yourselves 'Bangsa Malaysia' or '5 Malaysia' , please do so. It is not a crime. But to 'Bangsa Johor', lest we forget - this is our state," he said.

The term "5 Malaysia" was mentioned by Tunku Ibrahim's father, Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar, in a recent interview, saying the country is now further divided.

Meanwhile, the prince called on Johoreans to remember the endless possibilities if they stand united.

"Remember Johor's motto, 'Unity is a blessing' (Muafakat itu Berkat). God save the sultan. Johor must always be Johor," he said.
