After being dropped as deputy prime minister , Muhyiddin Yassin has received thousands of likes and messages of support on his official Facebook page and the numbers are increasing by the minute.

Muhyiddin, who is also Umno deputy president, uploaded his official statement at 4:30pm.

Within an hour he received 94,000 likes with comments pledging support, and they are still rolling in.

There were close to 6.000 comments on his Facebook page soon after the official statement was put up. Some pledged support for him, while others requested him to continue fighting.

Below are some of the comments:

Natasha Baharuddin: Terima kasih di atas perjuangan sebenar Tan Sri untuk rakyat, negara, agama, parti…rakyat bersama anda.

(Thank you for your struggle Tan Sri for the people, country, religion and party...the people are with you).

Nizwan Khan: Terbaik tan sri.. bersabar dan ambil nafas rehat...kami rakyat Johor sentiasa bersama tan sri.

(Remain steadfast and relax Tan Sri. The people from Johor are with you Tan Sri).

Erwan Safian: Kami sntiasa bsama TSMY!!!.. krana kami tahu apa yg dkatakn TSMY adalh betul.

(We are with you sir...as we know what you said is the truth).

Lim Ah Lem: Harapan saya kpd TSMY. Moga dpt berbincang dgn PAS membina malaysia. Gabungan baru. Mungkin atas nama pakatan islam. Kita tinggalkan PR & BN.

Parti komponen berasakan kaum ni banyak merosakkan jalinan dan ukhwah sesama islam.

(My hope is for Muhyiddin to discuss with PAS to build Malaysia and form a new union, maybe as an Islamic coalition. Leave Pakatan Rakyat and BN. Component parties based on race destroy Islamic ties and relationships).

Azizi Hashim: YOU ARE NOT ALONE! Persidangan Agong Umno ada TSMY...kasi lawan jawatan Presiden....

(You are not alone! In the coming Umno general assembly Muhyiddin should go for the post of party presidency).

Leonel Christopher: at least sblm tsmy kena cantas,,dia sda BERSUARA SERTA BERJUANG KPD KEBAIKAN utk RAKYAT. kmi faham engkau d gugurkan bukan kerana perbuatan jahat atau jenayah. kmi faham engkau d gugurkan kerana Allah syg kan engkau dr akan terjejas d masa depan.

nikmatilah kehidupan d hari selepas persaraan tsmy..tp perjuangan utk negara mesti harus d teruskan. SYABAS DR SAYA ,ANAK JATI SABAH.

(At least before you were dropped you managed to voice out for the benefit of the rakyat. We understand that you were dropped not because you had done wrong or any criminal action. We understand that you were dropped because Allah loves you and does not want to affect your future. Enjoy your retirement but continue on with your struggle. From a Sabahan.)

Muhyiddin's expulsion from the cabinet also made a strong presence on Twitter with much discussion on social media.

In contrast, Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s twitter posting on the cabinet reshuffle drew an overwhelming number of brickbats.
