Prominent banker Nazir Abdul Razak, has voiced support for the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over its alleged harassment for investigating Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and former 1MDB subsidiary SRC International Sdn Bhd.

On the Instagram website, Nazir, who is a younger borther of Najib, posted a photograph of four senior MACC officials.

He captioned it saying, “A few good men. Protecting their institution, (the) MACC. Allow and encourage them (to) carry out their duties without fear or favour.”

Those on the photograph are MACC chief commissioner Abu Kassim Mohamed, former special operations division director Bahri Mohamad Zin, former strategic communications director Rohaizad Yaakob and deputy chief commissioner (operations) Mohd Shukri Abdull.

Bahri ( photo ) and Rohaizad were abruptly transferred to the Prime Minister’s Department, effective Friday last week.

Prior to this, seven MACC officers have been questioned over allegations that details from its investigation had been leaked, and their homes and offices were also raided by the police.

Bahri, who leads the MACC investigation, has denied any leak of information by the MACC, while the police denied deliberately interfering with MACC’s investigation.

Abu Kassim is currently on medical leave, leaving Shukri in charge. However, Mohd Shukri, who has been attending a course in the United States, returned tonight.

Shukri had condemned Bahri and Rohaizad’s transfer and demanded for them to be returned to MACC.
