Stomping on PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang's photo during the Bersih rally was a racist act, said Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali.
"Perkasa condemns and insults the act by insolent Chinese youths who stepped on Hadi's photo and wrote all sorts of insults which seemingly insulted the Malays which was plastered at certain places.
"This is a heinous act that is unforgivable. [...] The people have a right to gather and protest [...] but if it marred by such insults, it is not blessed (tidak diberkati)," he said at the Putatan Perkasa annual assembly in Sabah yesterday.
Ibrahim was commenting on a viral photo of Bersih 4 participants stepping on a photoshopped picture of Hadi hugging Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
Hadi (photo ) has often been accused of being too friendly with Najib, with intent to work with Umno.
PAS has condemned the act, and demanded an apology.
Police are also investigating the incident, which is one of several police reports lodged against the Bersih rally.
PAS did not mobilise its followers to attend the rally.
Ibrahim meanwhile did not bar Perkasa members from joining the rally, but advised them not to go if it was detrimental to nation building.
