Malaysia remains at 168th in Fifa world rankings

The absence of class ‘A’ international friendly matches in recent years has not affected Malaysia’s position in the football world rankings.

According to the latest rankings issued by the International Federation of Association Football (Fifa) for September yesterday, Malaysia still maintains its 168th position from the months of July and August.

Malaysia was previously ranked 154th in the world in January and February; 153rd (in March); 164th (April); 166th (May) and 162nd in June.

Meanwhile, Copa America 2015 runners-up Argentina maintained their position as the best team in the world after accumulating 1,442 points.

Belgium and Germany also maintained their positions as the second and third in the world after they collected 1,269 points and 1,248 points respectively.

Fifa’s monthly ranking involves 209 countries.
