Sarawak's success as a prosperous and harmonious state is attributed to the state's leadership and administrative machinery which received the full confidence and respect of local residents.

State housing and tourism minister Abang Johari Abang Openg said to obtain this trust and respect, various measures were implemented and coordinated over the years.

Speaking at the opening of the Sarawak Malay National Association (PKMS), Petra Jaya branch, he noted that if at one time, defending one's race depended on physical strength, an explosion of technology had changed the landscape of struggle.

Later, Abang Johari presented a contribution for RM50,000 to the PKMS leadership to assist the association to implement its activities.
