Teresa Kok’s sedition case set for re-mention on Dec 7

The Sessions Court in Kuala Lumpur has set Dec 7 for re-mention of DAP vice-president Teresa Kok Suh Sim’s sedition case.

Judge Nor Sharidah Awang fixed the date after the prosecution, at the mention of the case today, told the court that it was awaiting disposal of another sedition case at the Federal Court before proceeding.

Deputy public prosecutor Hamdan Hamzah also said Kok’s application to transfer her case to the High Court had yet to be heard.

On May 6, last year, Kok who is also Seputeh Member of Parliament, claimed trial to posting a video clip titled ‘Teresa Kok ONEderful Malaysia CNY 2014'.

She is accused of uploading the alleged seditious material on YouTube at 90-02-07 Putra Ria Apartment, Jalan Bangsar in Kuala Lumpur at around 9am on Feb 1, 2014.

The charge under Section 4(1)(c) of the Sedition Act, punishable under Section 4(1) of the same Act, carries a fine of up to RM5,000 or imprisonment of up to three years, or both, upon conviction.
