Belated attack on NTV7 reveals dysfunctional regime

YOURSAY | ‘Syed Ali prefers gov’t to be a predatory tool for his ilk. This is the new Umno.’

Umno man wants NTV7's licence revoked for ‘rude’ programme but...

Trueglitter: Needless to reiterate, the gnashing of teeth and oppressive countenance by Cheras Umno chief Syed Ali Alhabshee speaks volumes on the menacing aggression cum lack of comprehension on relevant matters now confronting a very dysfunctional and corrupt Umno-led BN government.

It is indeed exceedingly reprehensible and foolhardy for him to believe that posturing via the gnashing of teeth cum insensitive threats bordering on unconcealed racial intimidation would enabled him to score political points, as inevitably it would merely serve him to dig his own political grave.

Maplesyrup: Syed Ali’s protest, which comes five years after the fact, only goes to show how hard it is for Umno, having scraped the bottom of the barrel, to find something to pick on certain segment of society.

Is Umno getting so desperate that they found themselves in the twilight zone where time freezes?

Kangkung: The story of the 916 (Sept 16) racist rally is now over, so Umno tried to revive it by talk of a Chinatown protest that was aborted, and then harped on the Chinese ambassador's visit to Petaling Street (that also failed), so now Umno has to find a new racial agenda.

So a defunct TV programme will do. Umno and PM Najib Razak will continue to do this to make sure the issues of the RM2.6 billion in his personal bank account and the 1MDB are forgotten.

Jvc: The three questions in the ‘quiz’ in the NTV7 programme are:

1. Which country saw jet engines missing without going to war?

2. Which country used RM10 million to build 50 1Malaysia clinics but there are no doctors?

3. Which country’s stadium collapsed even without an earthquake?’

Syed Ali, who is insulting who?

Wg321: Syed Ali wants the government to revoke NTV7’s broadcast licence but I thought the TV station is linked to Umno?

If a panellist on the show, DAP lawmaker Nga Kor Ming, had mocked Najib, then what is Wee Ka Siong from MCA doing as he was a panellist too? (He could have defended Najib).

The problem is Nga is a born orator. He can out-talk Wee anytime.

Milosevic: This loud-mouth, know-nothing not only gets his facts wrong, but more worrisome, does not give a hoot about the facts.

His desire to preserve a corrupt structure means that he wants to lower standards so much in the workings and judgement of the country. He takes offence over simple questions probing possible government malfeasance and inefficiency.

Syed Ali is a traitor to the country, not the people who question the government in order for it to perform better. He demands that they leave the country for criticising the country, saying they only can remain if they accept whatever the government does.

He wants the rule of mediocrity because he fits in so well. His primitive thinking is only suitable for decrepit banana republics. He wants to deny and block any kind of intelligence emerging from society to curb the failure of government.

He prefers the government to be a predatory tool for his ilk. This is the new Umno.

Cheong Sai Fah: Syed Ali's logic is beyond belief - anyone who criticises the government should leave the country.

What about the 52 percent of the people who voted against the government at the last general election? How about the government choosing to listen to the people instead?

No Racism: In a civilised country, if a minister had spewed such a racist comment, he would have had to apologies and resign. Unfortunately, we have an uncivilised government.

It’s time for Malaysia to get rid of this barbaric government. This is my opinion and if you don't like it, you can leave the country.

Turvy: If you stand naked in front of the camera, don’t complain about the picture showing you in the nude. If you rant under the midday sun, don’t complain about the ambulance taking you away. If you behave foolishly, don’t complain if they make a joke of you.

Lukesky: If you question the incompetence of the Umno government with facts, it is immediately and rather conveniently interpreted by them as being rude or questioning the rights of the Malays.

Nobody is questioning the special rights of the Malays but what the rakyat, regardless of race, yearn for is a clean and competent government.

Unfortunately after more than 50 years in power the Umno-led BN government has become lazy, incompetent and corrupt to the core.

Sensing they are losing support from the public due to all their collective shenanigans, they are now trying to cultivate racial conflict to try and stay in power come what may, regardless of the long-term destructive impact it may have on the fabric of the Malaysian society.

Eyespye: Syed Ali is the gift that keeps on giving, especially to Malaysiakini and its stock of Syed Ali's photos crack me up every time.

If there isn't already, there should be an Internet meme with the above picture.
