Tenaga Nasional Bhd said it is free from outside influence in the bidding process of 1Malaysia Development Bhd's power generation arm, Edra Global Energy Bhd.

"We are free to decide on our own... There is no pressure from any third party," TNB president and chief executive officer Datuk Azman Mohd told reporters on the sidelines of the Khazanah Megatrends Forum 2015 in Kuala Lumpur today.

The utility giant is currently undertaking due diligence process on Edra Global Energy and is expected to submit its final offer in the middle of this month, he added.

TNB is the sole Malaysian company bidding for Edra Global Energy while other foreign companies shortlisted by 1MDB included Qatar’s Nebras Power QSC, Hong Kong-listed CGN Meiya Power Holdings Co and Saudi Arabia-based ACWA Power International.
