After facing an internal crisis for 10 months, the MIC will finally hold its 68th Annual General Meeting at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang on Nov 6 and 7.

Its president, Dr S Subramaniam, on his Facebook page said the annual meeting would be opened by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

The meeting which was supposed to take place on Dec 13 and 14 last year was suspended on the instruction of the Registrar of Societies (ROS), which directed the party to hold the annual meeting after a fresh election for the three vice-presidents, central working committee and eight divisions.

ROS had nullified the elections held in November 2013 after receiving complaints about irregularities in the electoral process.

Meanwhile, MIC secretary-general A Sakthivel, when contacted by Bernama , said elections for the MIC Wanita, Youth, Putera and Puteri wings were set for Oct 18.

So far, MIC has held its branch level elections in July, the presidential election on Aug 21 and the divisional elections last month.

Dr Subramaniam won unopposed the president's post for the 2013-2016 term.
