YOURSAY | ‘Anybody wants to take a bet? I say Najib will not file the lawsuit.’

I'll see you in court, Ling tells Najib

FellowMalaysian: The content of former MCA chief Dr Ling Liong Sik's press statement has made Malaysians proud of him in not just defending himself when he was being called to do so but he did it with graceful style, respect and humility.

Although he expressed surprise and was bewildered at receiving such a letter from PM Najib Razak's lawyers, Ling nevertheless took the challenge in good spirit and his steadfast and emphatic stand in his reply, which came barely 48 hours after being served the legal order, earned him admiration and praises.

Granted Ling may, all of a sudden, find himself embarked on a long and tall journey - which probably had never crossed his mind before.

And as he marches to the battlefield, I can say one thing for certain: that Ling has just found himself a legion of supporters and admirers whom he may never have known before.

Anonymous_1421806811: Well done, Ling. Najib gave you a week to reply. You did almost immediately. This is the best favour you can do for Malaysia as a former senior politician.

With a bunch of afraid-to-lose lawyers representing an equally afraid-to-lose client, you are assured of victory and Malaysians shall know the truth.

Trueglitter: Ling, unlike your past predecessors including the current one, you had undeniably exhibited immense, ennobled courage and personal integrity in standing your ground and not being intimidated by the obnoxious posturing and legal threats from the much-despised pseudo Bugis 'warrior' cum prime minister.

Evidently, the fair-minded rakyat are understandably elated and appreciative of the fact that your said undertaking has provided the impetus of new hope and renewed confidence that justice would not forsake us and instead will be our bold friend.

Clearly, leaders from the component parties within BN, particularly MCA, would serve themselves well by taking a leaf from the dignified and single-minded example that you had unprecedentedly demonstrated, instead of remaining sheepishly cowed and undignified by the bullying of the overbearing Umno warlords.

Kuasa Rakyat: Anybody out there wants to take a bet? I say Najib will not initiate any legal action/sue Ling.

Similarly, no sane person in Malaysia actually believes that Najib will sue The Wall Street Journal .

How could he sue when it is already beyond a fact that RM2.6 billion went into his personal account and till today everyone is blur as to where it came from and where it went to.

If it was above board, wouldn't all details be made known by now, perhaps even published for all to see?

CQ Muar: Indeed, to this day, Najib has yet to admit or disclose the truth with regard to 1MDB's RM42 billion debt and how RM2.6 billion found its way into his private accounts.

In this, Bank Negara's governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz should divulge details of those transactions amounting to billions (and whether it was in accordance with the Money Laundering Act), instead of concealing what had transpired just because it involved the prime minister.

For such a scheming and deceitful person like Najib, his premiership will inevitably destroy the nation. In a nutshell, Najib must vacate his position.

Real Truth: Najib is being sued by one super woman from Umno (Anina Saadudin), who wants to know the source of his RM2.6 billion.

He has to reveal the donor. Until then, everyone will assume that the public money went into his pocket. Najib fails to understand, as the No 1 public servant, that he is duty bound to answer all relevant questions raised, however sensitive they are.

Pemerhati: Now Najib and his wife Rosmah Mansor are going to get very angry.

They are likely to look at various options, such as bringing up some trumped-up charge against Ling, as they did in the case of former opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, and send him to jail.

But wait a minute, in Ling’s case, they will not have to cook up any charge as they would not have much difficulty in finding one of his many ‘skeletons’ and charge him.

Citizen No26: Tun Ling, it is never too late to do the right thing. Your brave act has put all the MCA leaders before and after you to great shame.

I have always looked down on MCA leaders but I now salute you for standing up to the bullying and intimidation by the Bugis ‘warrior’.

It’s sad to see all the current MCA leaders abandoning you, their ex-MCA president, when you are trying to salvage some dignity for yourself and for MCA.

Doc: Ling has apparently called Najib's bluff. So will Najib take Ling to court?

Looking into Najib's long list of people on his "sue" list and the number of those people he actually sued; I can assure Ling that he can sleep soundly and will not see the inside of a courthouse anytime soon.

From Najib's point of view he has two options:

1) Sue Ling as planned.

2) Send his monkey squad (Jamal Md Yunos and Ali Tinju and gang) to harass Ling.

Spinnot: I bet Najib's lawyers will now write a letter to Ling asking him to explain what he meant when he said, "He has taken people's money and put it in his own personal accounts."
