IGP should tell Ali Tinju, don’t mess with Malacca

YOURSAY | ‘This is what happens when the authorities free a man for ‘lack of evidence’.’

Ali Tinju: Melaka Raya won't be safe this Saturday

Anonymous_1372741039: The PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police) must act accordingly and forcefully against any incitement by individual or parties.

Any alleged gang attack be it by Chinese, Malay or Indians for that matter on any individual, whether a government servant or otherwise, is a criminal offence to be dealt with by the law.

Army veteran Ali Tinju (Mohd Ali Baharom), or whatever monicker he goes by, should be severely reprimanded as it is an outrage to issue threats and warning. This is a nation governed by the rule of law and not by a mafioso group.

Two wrongs do not make a right, Ali Tinju and gang should protect the weak and not be driven by hate or be racially driven. Where is the heroism or glory in that?

The PDRM is there to handle crime. Ali Tinju should help in policing, not add or aggravate the situation. Be sensible and don’t act like a raving mobster or rant like a lunatic.

Anonymous_1391693662: Is Ali Tinju trying to threaten the Chinese minority? But why? This issue is something to do with gangsters, not the common Chinese. They have not done anything wrong.

If you are angry with the gangsters, then gather your people to catch all of them. Help the authorities, don't threaten the commoners.

Show your heroism to the gangsters. There are Chinese, Indian and Malay gangsters in Malaysia. Go get all of them. Don't be a coward and attack innocent people.

Sans Prejudice: Since when has Ali Tinju taken upon himself as the judge and jury for the incident involving 'gangsters' in the assault of some immigration enforcement officers? Have not the police arrested the culprits?

Melaka Jaya is a popular tourist spot and if the police remain silent and does not arrest this rabble-rouser now, the loss of revenue for the businesses will be tremendous. Tourism is the biggest source of income to the state and traders of all races are the direct beneficiaries.

Ali Tinju seems to enjoy immunity from police action for all the threats he has made so far. I was in Malacca very recently and I noticed a warning in Jonker Street which says, 'Don't Mess with Melaka' or to the effect.

Will the authorities send this message to this slimeball?

Res Ipsa: The message from the rulers is clear - the rule of law must be upheld. Here we have a nincompoop called Ali Tinju going around stoking racial tensions at his whims and fancies and appears to be getting away with it due to his connections.

Isn't this a classic case where the full brunt of Sosma should be thrown at him so that he gets locked up immediately?

Tholu: This is what happens when the authorities free a man without preferring any charges against him even though there were clear and ample evidence of him committing a crime under the Sedition Act and the Penal Code.

He becomes even bolder and audaciously issue threats to act violently against a particular race without fear of the authorities.

He knows he has the subtle support and perhaps even encouragement from the Umno government. So much for the desire for a moderate society, a society that shuns racism, religious bigotry and extremism that PM Najib Razak so proudly espoused.

GE14NOW!: Ali Tinju, in the same way, we do not tolerate Malay gangsters who plunder the country and sit in positions of high power. But you seem to tolerate that and we are left wondering why.

No, we know why. Money talks, doesn't it? And when it talks to people like you, you go out of your way to cause trouble.

Neutral Point: I wonder what the police going to do to stop such nonsense or how the police viewed such challenges from these people who try to make themselves popular in politics by talking the law in their hand?

Victor Johan: The 'Buntut-man' strikes again. Didn't he claim through his pro bono lawyer when posting bail for the Low Yat incident that he was jobless and had to support his schoolgoing children?

Eventually AG dropped the charges against him citing lack of evidence.

He was not reprimanded for his actions at Petaling Street during the Sept 16 fiasco. And now this new episode. Any wonder who's his financier?

The Mask: I'll give the PDRM six days to see whether any action will be taken against Ali Tinju and his buddy, Jamal Md Yunos.

If after six days and nothing is done, maybe I'll also start issuing threats. I really don’t want to but PDRM is giving me no choice.

My family trip to Malacca on Saturday has to be cancelled. What kind of life am I living in this country? I humbly appeal to the sultans to please step in and help the country.

Ib: Let’s get back to the real issue. It is called 1MDB.

If you don't like to talk about 1MDB, then let's talk about where the RM2.6 billion 'donation' to the PM's account in Ambank has gone?

And let's continue to question why The Wall Street Journal is not being sued?

WahBohTai: Rewind to July. The issues were 1MDB debt and Najib's donation. They had nothing to do with race. And nothing to do with the Chinese.

Do not fall into the trap set by Najib and his gang. Businesses in Melaka Raya should just close on Saturday and take a well-earned break. The police should take charge, not this Ali Tinju character.
