Arul and 1MDB still speaking with forked tongue

YOURSAY | ‘What do you mean Sarawak Report produced the real thing ‘in this case’?’

1MDB boss confirms S'wak Report docs authentic, denies lying

Aries46: What does 1MDB CEO Arul Kanda mean by “[...] I can confirm that, in this particular case, it ( Sarawak Report ) appears to have published an authentic 1MDB document, namely minutes of a Jan 12, 2015 board meeting.”

Can he give instances previously when Sarawak Report has published documents that were proven by 1MDB to be fake. If not, he must stick to the facts.

Unless he can counter the slew of charges including that monies redeemed from the PetroSaudi International (PSI) joint venture was in cash form in the BSI Bank in Singapore was a brazen lie and monies meant for PSI were allegedly diverted to other sources and is the subject of the RM1.83 billion demand for repatriation by Bank Negara Malaysia, he should refrain from political comments that only worsens the battered reputation of his ‘debt’ fund.

Anonymous 122461436161429: It's so simple that even a child can understand. Bank Negara gave approval for the RM1 billion to leave Malaysia and for it to go to company A.

Once the money left the country, 1MDB instructed it to go to Good Star and not company A. It is clear therefore that the approval was obtained on false grounds.

If 1MDB did not want money to go to Good Star, they should be jumping up and down now. They are not.

Bank Negara has now found out the information given to it was false and has called back the money. 1MDB should stop making excuses, stop covering up and bring the money back.

Negarawan: “My strong track record speaks for itself and my only professional agenda is to fix the challenges in 1MDB."

Arul should be modest about his "track record". A person's track record is based on his last performance. Judging from his deceitful and unethical mannerism, and his attempts to withhold information and evidence from investigators and auditors, Arul has a disappointing and negative track record.

No established corporation would even consider employing anyone who has an integrity issue, and this is what Arul should ponder upon.

Anonymous 122461436161429: He is still speaking with forked tongue. What do you mean that Sarawak Report produced the real thing "in this particular case"?

Has it been proven that they have not produced the real thing in any other cases? Arul had said that he was willing to reveal the actual dealings prior to his appointment.

If that is the case, he should have no problem confirming Sarawak Report’s and The Edge’s articles which show fictitious documents for the investments and the payment of fictitious loans to PetroSaudi approved by 1MDB's ex-CEO Sharol Halmi and the board and PM, and which show where the billions actually went, i.e. into Jho Low’s company, and from there where the billions ended up.

Hytan: What a most unprofessional excuse - that Arul had just joined the company barely a week ago before the BOD (board of directors) meeting.

Don't tell me that he was not unaware of the state of affairs of the company from the negative publicity in the media prior to joining the company.

Anonymous #21828131: The entire board members of 1MDB should be sacked by virtue of this claim by Arul in his statement: "However, upon further investigation and verification, it became clear that this was a misunderstanding."

This goes to show that either there was collaboration between the board members and Arul after he took over, or the board members knowingly choose Arul to tell a lie.

The former DPM should sue Najib for wrongful dismissal and seek compensation for shaming him and putting him in bad light when Najib himself was a party to the wrongdoings of 1MDB as finance minister and adviser to this newly-minted sovereign fund.

Pemerhati: 1MDB’s top officials have given new meaning to words like ‘theft’ and ‘lies’.

When PM Najib Razak is caught with billions in his bank account, which was most probably taken from 1MDB and deposited in his account through a circuitous route, he calls it a ‘donation’.

When Arul is exposed lying about the non-existent cash in the bank, he tries to cover it up by saying that it was a 'misunderstanding' or ‘miscommunication’.

FellowMalaysian: After nine months into his job, Arul has finally come clean in attesting to the authenticity of the information published by Sarawak Report . Let the court judge whether he has been lying as claimed by Clare Rewcastle.

What about also telling us that the gamut of Sarawak Report's revelations so far is also true and accurate to the dot?

Dr Patricia A Martinez: Suddenly we have a spate of purging oneself of the truth, starting with Bank Negara governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz... why couldn't they have done this earlier and saved many good Malaysians with courage who have suffered terrible consequences and continue to do so?

And having dragged the rest of us and our nation's fundamentals down almost into panic mode... there should be punitive action for these too little too late heroism after the official silence for months.

Oh Ya?: Just make clear to us what were the units invested by 1MDB? Don't they have names? And why should 1MDB pay Aabar Investments? Finally, is his ‘professional’ allegiance to Aabar or the rakyat?
