Azmin plays a dangerous game in embracing PAS

YOURSAY | 'It's one thing to want to be in power, but quite another to work with traitors.'

Azmin pledges to work with PAS, as Pakatan leaders watch

Drngsc: Go ahead, PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali. Have it your way.

But work with PAS and your future is cooked. Tomorrow will be different for you, as we do not like and do not trust liars, crooks and betrayers.

Jaded: This is not a good sign. It's one thing to want to be in power, but quite another to work with traitors to stay in power. Nevertheless, at the next elections you will be voted out.

Send In The Clowns: Why is DAP and Parti Amanah Negara still holding on to the tailcoat of PKR?

PKR is the weakest link in Pakatan Harapan, the 'spoiler' of the newly formed alliance, the mistress of the devil, PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.

Who is Azmin? Has he consulted the leadership of the coalition partners to ooze out his crap? Where is PKR chairperson Wan Azizah Wan Ismail? Has the absence of her husband made her non-functional?

Vision2020: As a long-term strategy, Azmin may be playing the right card with his neutral strategic move by not offending all opposition parties, including embracing PAS to the opposition block since Pakatan Harapan leaders know they cannot win GE14 without the rural support that PAS may play a pivotal role to garner.

The stumbling block with PAS now is their leader Hadi and PAS has to sort out their leadership problems among themselves without outside interference, particularly from Umno on the unity government with the enticement of goodies, and DAP harping on religious issues including hudud.

Watch Out: Azmin is right. Hadi is not in his best of health. He may not be around for GE14. PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man is not so bad.

If Azmin burns all bridges now, it would be more difficult to get PKR and PAS to work together again. The stumbling block is right now is Hadi.

Prudent: If Azmin can pull this off - i.e. unite the opposition including PAS on a common policy platform and convince the swing voters that PAS will not betray their trust again - then Azmin is definitely prime ministerial material.

But with Hadi at the helm of PAS, it's a very tall order. It would be easier if PAS Salor assemblyperson Husam Musa can take over PAS.

Ksn: PKR is dead for wanting to work with the fanatics. Amanah and DAP should keep away from the two parties whatever the cost.

If not, they will face the same fate as PKR. Azmin, the Selangor voters will not be fooled anymore. Take note.

Old Timer: I really don't know how it can work out. What Azmin is saying is just rhetoric.

How can they (either a faction in PKR or collectively) work with PAS when they both obviously have different party visions for the country, when they argue and tear at one another publicly, when they field candidates for the same seat during elections - i.e. they are competitors - when the culture and mindset of the leaders are different, where one is biased towards religious teachers without democratic and economically driven views?

Azmin's statement is just words. It is no better than Prime Minister Najib Razak shouting that we are Malaysians when in reality, there is no equality in the eyes of the law and the lawmakers.

I really wish that someone, anyone, sitting in Parliament would come up with some sound strategies and tactics to move the country forward, instead of just mouthing meaningless words.

Sometimes I wonder if anyone is really working on running the country.

Spinnot: DAP and Amanah, it's better to have a bicycle with two working wheels than a tricycle with a jammed wheel.

What's next for Muhyiddin - warlord or statesman?

Headhunter: Umno deputy Muhyiddin Yassin's body language tells us that he would be a weak PM if he ever had the opportunity to be positioned to replace Najib. Bad for Malaysians, but good for the opposition.

Anonymous$&@?: Muhyiddin's actions show that he is just an opportunist betting for the tide to turn in Umno, but alas it didn't. He is part of the problem, just like his ex-boss Mahathir.

As for the latter, do you think he would admit his mistakes and say 'sorry' for starting the rot? Of course, he wouldn't because he has too much pride to protect his (sullied) legacy.

Even Umno and PDRM dare not touch him for attacking Najib, but karma is status and colour blind.

Send in the Clowns: This is the typical behaviour of Umno bullies. When in power they are unchallenged and untouchable.

When the shine is removed from their protective armour, they behaved like household rats hiding in the comfort of their tiny holes.

Muhyiddin, your free dinner days are over, you have to perform. No guts, no glory.

Anonymous_1404717623: I can't agree more with 'Send in the Clowns' - when Muhyiddin was in power, he behaved like a warrior of the Malays, but now just look at him, he is like a rat, hiding here and there and even overseas, worrying about being sacked by his president.

Tok Karut: Muhyiddin has been placed in cold storage and he either does not know that, or pretends that he does not know it so that he can 'cari makan'.

Yet on a daily basis, the ordinary rakyat have to think of ways to put food on their table.

Every time I see a raid in the morning market by enforcement officers, I am reminded of how fat politicians get away with grand theft.
