Miti invites NGOs to TPPA dialogue on Dec 1

All parties are invited for a Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) dialogue with International Trade and Industry Minister Mustapa Mohamed at the Menara Miti in Kuala Lumpur on Dec 1.

His deputy, Ahmad Maslan said non-governmental organisations (NGO) and opposition parties were invited for the dialogue to be held openly, just like town hall sessions.

He said the dialogue would begin with a talk by Mustapa, followed by a question-and-answer session.

"The public can just walk into the multi-purpose hall that can accommodate 2,000 people," Ahmad told reporters after welcoming participants of 'Kayuhan Jelajah Hujung Benua' at the Finance Ministry today.

Besides Malaysia, other countries involved in TPPA negotiations are Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, United States and Vietnam.

The negotiations which began in 2005 were finalised on Oct 5.
