Completely silenced at the Umno general assembly last week, sidelined party deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin found comfort in the words of secret admirer.

The words scrawled on a café serviette and passed to him this morning appeared to sooth Muhyiddin’s growing battle wounds.

“A heartfelt message I received from a lady at a cafe this morning. Thank you!” he captioned a Facebook posting with a picture of the serviette.

The message signed ‘Amy Ho’ reads:

“Dear YB Tan Sri Muhyiddin,

Thank you very much for standing up for all of us when no one dares to do it.

We are all for you and we are praying that your struggle is not in vain.

May God bless you and our country.”

The picture posted online garnered more than 30,000 ‘likes’ in five hours.

“The lady is representing thousands of us our here. Thank you,” Muhyiddin’s Facebook fan Alsaddam Suhaimi said in response.

Others, like Facebook user WK Chan told Muhyiddin to continue fighting and “fear no one except God”.

“Your name will be in the history books of Malaysia... Please don’t let our next generation down,” Chan said.
