Medium.com threat to national or Najib’s security?

YOURSAY | Why the need to block social media if you've nothing to hide?

Minister defends blocking medium.com, says it broke law

StrainingGnats, SwallowCamels: “So, in short, medium.com broke the law," said Communications and Multimedia Minister Salleh Said Keruak.

"In short", that makes you the judge and executioner. "In short" it means you don't have to cite section/s of the law that medium.com is purported to have broken.

"In short" it means you don't have to produce evidence of the wrongdoing before you execute judgement.

"In short" it means what you say is truth and the final verdict. "In short" it means you don't have to go through the necessary due process of the law.

"In short" it means Malaysians must accept what you say. "In short", you do what is 'good' for yourself, without regard for law and justice.

Done: Blocking medium.com is not sending the right signal to the Internet community, but is lending more credibility to the many reports on the 1MDB and PM Najib Razak’s RM2.6 billion scandals, and giving people the feeling that the government has much to hide.

Martha: Salleh, if you think that Sarawak Report is reporting nonsense about your boss, then be a gentleman and sue them.

If you do not sue them, it only means that they are reporting the truth. Therefore, the people should be very thankful to Sarawak Report for letting them know what is happening to their country, which will soon turn into a Third World country because of your boss.

Liew Lean Kut: Dear minister, if someone slanders you, you sue him in court. If someone breaks the law, you haul him to court.

But instead you blocked his or her website. It is very clear to everybody you are afraid Malaysians knowing the truth.

Like the Chinese saying, paper cannot wrap over fire. The truth will come out one day, either sooner or later.

Mosquitobrain: Indeed, why the need to block social media if you have nothing to hide?

Why dare not initiate legal action, if what you've claimed is false, unsubstantiated and misleading stories, detrimental to the already tainted Najib administration?

Doc: Medium.com has broken Malaysian law, or broken the ‘Protect Despot Najib’ law?

Burning Nation: How does telling the truth about Najib be considered detrimental to national security? As long as he is still the PM, our national security is indeed being compromised.

Roguekiller: All genuine and authentic news portals that carry factual articles are deemed false and fabricated, whereas Umno, Umno websites, Malay daily Utusan Malaysia, etc, which lie and print false news in support of Umno and Najib are acceptable.

Anonymous_1430706973: To be consistent, you have to block all the sites of every newspaper and magazine in the world that print the statement of the attorney-general (AG) of Switzerland, which is deemed 'misinformation ' by the Malaysian government as they have broken national laws.

Sabahan: I didn't know Salleh studied law and has been appointed a judge? Who is he to judge medium.com ?

He is a shameless ignorant minister who thinks that on being minted a minister, he is suddenly imbued with intelligence.

Ee Beng Guan: Salleh can't play the role of prosecutor and jury. Sue them if you think you have a case. What you are doing smacks of abuse of power.

Bumiputhran: How to many fires they have to put out, that they are running out of cover stories. Soon the whole forest will be ablaze and the heat will become unbearable.

The moral compass of the Umno elitists stink to high hell and it says a lot about their religious and cultural values.

In any other society, the cancerous cells would have been excised long before it becomes entrenched.

Well Thats Fantastic: I hope this government gets "blocked" at the next general election.
