M’sians deserve better than ‘graduates’ of University of Umno

YOURSAY | ‘The moment Bashah said Umno was his university, we know what to expect.’

My university is Umno, Ahmad Bashah tells critics

Dont Just Talk: Newly sworn-in Kedah Menteri Besar Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah is right when he said that his university is Umno and what better place to make a living in Malaysia than by joining the right party?

He uses his head by working smart and combining with the blind loyalty to PM Najib Abdul Razak, Ahmad Bashah is the new menteri besar of Kedah.

To succeed in your political career, one must also be ready to back stab your boss and to give him the kiss of death when the timing is right.

All these learning curves can only be obtained through years of practical training, which Malaysian youths need to learn from Ahmad Bashah.

GE14Now!: The University of Umno has a Master’s degree in Fundraising, a PhD in International Fundraising, a BSc in Extremism, an MBA in Incompetence and a whole host of other degrees that are of no use to anyone in the country.

Well, if that is your university, then I feel really sorry for the folks in Kedah. And I forgot one other very important degree from the University of Umno - that would be a doctorate degree in Grand Corruption.

God Helps Malaysia: It’s sad to have another unqualified, unprofessional self-serving political animal on the government payroll to run the country.

My head and my heart really sink to the stomach to see all these apple-polisher type of self-serving leaders and ministers running this country.

Can we have real efficient, righteous and clean leaders with true commitment to serve to run this country?

We deserve better. How long do we have to wait for change? We have really have quite enough already - the drama, the lies, the plots in Malaysia politics can make a most interesting TV drama series for all to see.

When will the righteous and capable men and women stand up? I am indeed frustrated because we have such a beautiful country.

Anonymous_3e21: Don't worry YAB Bashah, one’s level of education means nothing to this government.

In fact, this government’s preference is clearly for those who does not have proper qualification, with the likes of the Tabung Haji chairperson as an example.

Like what you say, having graduated from University of Umno is what you need to be successful in Malaysia.

Hang Babeuf: ‘Umno is my university’, Ahmad Bashah says. And, as we know, the scholarly quality of the academic staff there is excellent.

They are known worldwide for their broad vision, deep insight - and fierce intellectual integrity. Selamat bertugas, Pak!

Fair Play: Actually I like you to be the MB of Kedah so that you can continue with your beauty sleep.

Like the proverbial Rip van Winkle, when you wake up, Kedah is transformed into a lush paradise of greenery with the human species a tiny minority of its denizens, the rest is wildlife and this will make Kedah a top pristine tourist spot for global nature lovers.

ACR: Life can teach one many things; and in history, there have been great leaders with little formal education. But the moment this fellow said Umno was his university, we now know what to expect.

Bashah hurt by shut-eye insults

Anonymous 2326501438321389: Carry on, Bashah. There is nothing wrong in taking a power nap when the speaker is boring or talking rubbish.

General Tomoyuki Yamashita, the tiger of Malaya, always fall asleep during meetings but he conquered Malaya and Singapore in 70 days.

As for having low-level education, no worries. Abraham Lincoln was said to have had little formal schooling. He went on to become president of the United States.

Maybe you may become the PM of Malaysia one day. So don't worry about all these people who now try to malign you.

Bumiputeri: The problem is that you denied that you were sleeping when in fact you did just that based on the video. You should have said, “Yes, I tertidur.”

Spinnot: "He (Bashah) added that he found that he could ‘concentrate’ on matters better by shutting his eyes." Well then, please shut your eyes longer.

Justine Gow: He was probably ‘concentrating’ on the 2.6 million ‘bintang-bintang’ when he shut his eyes during the official function. The shutting of his eyes on this issue has paid off well for him as we can all see now.

Jaycee: Bashah, there is blinking and there is deep sleep. Obviously, the two scenarios are worlds apart. But you already know that.

Well Thats Fantastic: A normal human brain runs at around 60Hz and a blink takes 1/100 of a second, so what speed is this guy’s brain running for a blink to take so long?

Are the best interests of the state being considered when putting such a fellow into this position?
