'No one has yet to tell us the truth on Donation-gate'

YOURSAY | ‘From day 1 of this cursed 1MDB scandal, has anyone ever told the rakyat the truth?’

'How now, AG, is RM2.6b donation or business deal?'

Saya Pun Nak Cari Makan: Attorney-general (AG) Mohamed Apandi Ali, you jumped the gun too fast. In your eagerness to please PM Najib Razak, you cleared his name.

You underestimated the people's intelligence, thinking that they will swallow your decision wholesale. Your first flaw was that you assumed Najib did not know the RM42 million deposited into his account.

As a former judge, you should ask what a reasonable man would do if he deposited so much money into another person's account. You knew that, but you preferred to take chance on the public.

And on the RM2.6 billion donation, you were fast to conclude that was from a Saudi royalty. Now that it is made known that it may not be a donation, would you prefer charges against Najib?

Remember that you fear Allah only. And for Allah-fearing Muslims, justice and righteousness are paramount.

Anonymous #21828131: From day 1 of this cursed 1MDB scandal, has anyone ever told us the rakyat the truth? And yet these leaders, without an iota of shame, walk with their heads held high.

Right from the very top, and including the AG, these people don't know the meaning of honesty and shame and have done exactly the opposite of what their religion has taught them to do.

If I were their children, I would go up to them and ask them, "Dad, you asked me to speak the truth at all times, how come you are now lying on a daily basis? I am ashamed of you, Dad."

The Japanese would have long performed harakiri to escape the shame, but here in Malaysia shame is unheard of.

Instead, their shameless motto is "Gua tolong lu, lu tolong gua".

Anonymous 2336601439051901: If the donor is so generous to donate RM2.6 billion to the PM, then it means the donor loves and cares for the PM very much.

So, why does the donor refuse to come out to clear PM of all the accusations? What makes it so hard for the donor to admit he was the one who donated the money?

Hang Babeuf: Note well: In matters of judgment and justice and governance, "you shall take no gifts. Gifts blind those who have sight, and pervert the words of the righteous (Exodus 23:8)".

Discovery: I think Apandi must have deeply regretted to have accepted the AG’s job.

He must now realise that he has been made use of and in a very difficult position to redeem himself. He is truly a tortured soul.

JD Lovrenciear: Who can and is willing to rescue Malaysia in crises? Our revered rulers? Dr M and all his 'retired' seniors? Or Najib's Bugis oarsmen?

And what's taking them so long? Or will citizens have to do it on their own ultimately? And if so, when?

MACC adviser: Probe Saudi minister's 'RM2.6b is investment' claim

FellowMalaysian: Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir has openly expressed his doubt in the New York Times that the RM2.6 billion was a donation.

This should be enough ground for Apandi and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to reopen the probe.

Anomnim: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) people are not happy. MACC people are not happy. Bank Negara is not happy.

The foreign minister of the donating country says it may not be true. Singapore, Hong Kong, Switzerland and Saudi Arabia all want to investigate.

A sum of RM2.6 billion deposited in the PM’s personal account and no explanation on who gave it, how it was spent, and whether much of it was really returned.

Then when we ask for clarification, comes the real imbeciles saying, ‘baseless accusation’, ‘show evidence’, ‘don't question’, ‘don't speculate’, ‘don't politicise’, ‘keep quiet and be stupid’.

Unafraid: There are far too many discrepancies in the so-called investigations in the 1MDB fiasco. The conclusions arrived at by the AG simply do not hold water.

Only idiots are satisfied and Malaysians are no idiots.

This smacks of big time cover-up and massive corruption. The common rakyat are suffering from rising cost of living and increased toll rates, among other increases meant to boost the government’s dwindling revenues.

Why should we pay for the excesses of the corrupt in the corridors of power?

GE14Now!: There is another one who should also be investigated and that would be the AG himself.

He was in such a hurry to exonerate the PM. Of course, he will now try and excuse his haste by saying that there is no new evidence.

But the fact is that all the evidence has been pointing at corruption on a grand scale and he just refuses to see it.

Are there any mechanisms in place to impeach both the PM and the AG?
