Other countries taking action and it’s not even their money

YOURSAY | ‘Banks have frozen accounts that are being investigated and some of the people charged.’

HK bank accounts of several individuals frozen in 1MDB probe

Pahatian: While all the foreign authorities and banks are digging deeper and deeper into the scandals involving 1MDB, the Malaysian side is allegedly trying to cover up the tracks.

If the chairperson of the advisory board-cum-finance minister and PM has done no wrong, then who is in the wrong?

Why is it to date no one has been held responsible for the loss of billions of ringgit? How can the government of the day just not be bothered with this at all?

RM2.6 Billion Turkey Haram: How amazing our government is. The 1MDB scandal has spread far and wide, and countries through which the transactions took place are relentlessly investigating it.

They are bent on getting to the bottom of the case and flushing out the crooks, despite that the billions that disappeared into thin air were not from their taxpayers' pockets.

The money is from our country, and our PM-cum-finance minister has already considered the case closed. Notice that he never spoke seriously on the issue? He acted as if the loss of that magnitude is child's play.

Maybe he is so used to handling billions as a finance minister. Loss of billions does not prick his conscience even a bit. I think that is the reason he is not affected by the huge loss.

After all, with a wave of his magic wand, donations in billions come flooding into his bank accounts. He even has the luxury of returning RM2 billion to the donor.

Boeyks: Other countries are one by one taking action against the people who had dealings with 1MDB. Banks have frozen the accounts that are being investigated and some of the people had been charged.

But in the country where the alleged scam began, there are at present no investigations and no person or bank had been implicated.

Cogito Ergo Sum: It is simply incredible that no action has been taken so far over 1MDB in Malaysia. It speaks volumes on the quality and depth of the investigators’ aptitude in such matters.

Well, the only conclusion that one can draw is that there must be worldwide collusion to bring down the current allegedly corrupt regime.

Adityamahesh: Now Bloomberg has joined the western conspiracy against PM Najib Razak.

I noticed lately that Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Salleh Said Keruak, Abdul Rahman Dahlan and a couple of other Najib defenders have been silent. Are they beginning to see the light?

Discovery: Where is Jho Low? He has been deliberately protected to protect the guilty ones because if he is arrested and interrogated, he will sing like a canary to protect himself first.

In a humongous corruption scandal like 1MDB, doesn't it make you wonder why individuals like Jho Low, Casey Tang and Tan Kim Loong are left untouched?

Doesn't it make you wonder why until today the PM and his bunch of clowns have still not sued The Wall Street Journal and Sarawak Report?

And these guilty ones still have the audacity to parade around like proud peacocks as if they have done nothing wrong.

All the law enforcement agencies such as the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), AG’s Chambers and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) are abetting the guilty ones by doing nothing to bring the guilty ones to account for their crimes.

If this country is not a failed state, I don't know what kind of country we really are.

Mampus BN: Who cares about Hong Kong or UK or Swiss investigations? You all opposition can keep your mouth shut.

We are enjoying amazing support from people of Sarawak and BN will win even more seats this time. It proves there is no scandal and no corruption in Malaysia.

Oxymoronictendencies: A truly remarkable comment by Mampus BN. Well, that's hardly surprising from a BN supporter.

They don't care about the rule of law in Malaysia, let alone internationally. I am also not entirely clear on how they came to the conclusion that there is no scandal or corruption in Malaysia.

How does BN winning the state election in Sarawak translate into proof of no scandal or corruption?

The truth about the Sarawak election is, while many opposition politicians have been banned from the state, the entire BN cabinet is allowed in. This is hardly a level-playing field.

And the Electoral Commission does nothing, demonstrating that democracy in Malaysia is just a hollow facade.

Middle Path: Imagine a leader of a country conspiring with others to cheat, swindle and steal from his own country?

Such a shameful and disgraceful act and still, not a single iota of remorse but instead, even preaching to others to stay firm and have faith in him?
