It is surprising that MCA had been harbouring Ridhuan for so long despite him belittling the Chinese community time and again, including cursing his own father for selling sundry goods at exorbitant prices to Malays.

MCA should have kicked him out when he began making all the outrageous comments. It was cheeky of Ridhuan to claim that he was forging a bridge between the Chinese community/MCA and Islam, and had failed since MCA is an enemy of Islam.

Vijay47: Ridhuan, the revelation that you were a member of MCA, and a lifetime one at that, is a real shock to all of us who had bought the line that in view of your passionate and vociferous defence of all things Malay and Muslim, you had somehow metamorphised from Chinese to Malay, achieving former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad's miraculous success in his own modification from Indian to Malay.

Ridhuan, your explanation on the reasons for your leaving MCA is equally amazing. You lament that your intention to be a bridge for Islam was not appreciated.

Can I dare ask how you intended to achieve this when your entire efforts, when not bogged down by plagiarism, were to be as offensive as possible to the entire Chinese and non-Muslim communities?

Real Truth: Indeed, MCA president Liow Tiong Lai must tender his resignation, not because of PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang's Hudud Bill, but because he had been harbouring Ridhuan as a life member of MCA.

Gaji Buta: This news report is disturbing from so many angles. Firstly, this man an MCA member? I thought my opinion of this party can't go much lower.

Secondly, he is quitting because MCA disrespects his religion? What about all the disparaging remarks he made against the Chinese community (and yet MCA still kept you as a member)? Doesn't respect work both ways?

He had been issuing many statements which ran contradictory to MCA’s policies and yet no one realised he was one of them?

He is not trying to build bridges, he is trying to tear down bridges and build walls and spread anger and disharmony. MCA, you have been conned after all these years.

Secondly, it equally baffles me how MCA could have retained you, an anti-Chinese chauvinist, as a member.

Thirdly, your decision to join MCA despite being a Muslim clearly proves that in your heart of hearts you still hold Chinese culture dear to you over any other culture and tradition of other races.

By Jove, we wonder if the MCA registrar was even aware that they had a racist in their circles. One who had constantly ridiculed the Chinese with his ultra kiasu labels, among others.

Funny, here's MCA giving us a ‘wah lai toi’ (soap opera) drama on its threat to "quit"; here's MCA attempting to champion itself as defender of the Chinese race; and here's MCA promoting itself as defender of the Federal Constitution.

But golly gee, MCA had been accommodating Ridhuan all these years. That, to me, sounds like having Al Capone as part of anti-alcohol awareness committee.

Hcleong: I somehow fully agreed with Ridhuan this time. He said that the Malays are continuously being cheated, and that the Malays and Malay-based parties are still blind.

Yes, they are cheated by their own type, the corrupted leaders who speak in their name, but siphoned off the nation's money.

The Malay-based parties are still blind for they still want such leaders to be their champions, and more interestingly, this Chinese-turned-Malay is one of them - to be cheated by their own kind.

Worried Sick: Ridhuan is nothing but a disgrace to the Chinese community. That he has been a life member of MCA all this while is mind-boggling.

What type of a party is this that has let a man, who is a traitor to his people, be its life member? The MCA president must be held responsible for this.
