The main website of The Edge Media Group is currently inaccessible following attacks on its servers.

In a statement, The Edge said that its servers have been under constant attack since yesterday morning.

“Dear theedgemarkets.com readers, our website is down as our servers have been under constant attack since this morning (Monday).

“We are working hard to restore service. Please be patient with us. Thank you for your understanding,” said the statement posted on its Facebook page.

No reason was given for the attacks.

Introduced in October 2014, www.theedgemarkets.com is the main website of The Edge Media Group and consolidates the previous news websites www.theedgemalaysia.com and www.theedgesingapore.com by The Edge Communications Sdn Bhd and The Edge Publishing Pte Ltd.

In September last year, the High Court had quashed the Home Ministry's decision to suspend two publications by The Edge Communications – The Edge Financial Daily and The Edge Financial Weekly.

The Home Ministry had issued a three-month suspension notice, believed to be linked to the publications' reports on state-investment fund 1MDB.
