Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor today took his wardrobe malfunction on the night of BN's twin polls victory in stride as he laughed off the incident where his pants slipped off to reveal his white underwear.

According to The Star Online, Tengku Adnan joked that many Umno Wanita and Puteri members were "syok" (thrilled) when they saw the incident.

However, Umno Wanita Chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil replied that they were instead "in a state of shock" after seeing what happened.

The incident occurred while Tengku Adnan and the entire BN line-up held hands to pose for photographs in celebration of BN's win in the Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar by-elections on June 18.

Images and videos of the incident had since made rounds on social media.

Tengku Adnan also poked fun at Umno vice-president Hishammuddin Hussein, who was holding on to his hand when his pants fell down.

"This was Hishammuddin's fault... My pants fell but he kept holding on to my hand and didn't want to let go. I had to quickly pull up my pants.

"Not only did he not want to let go, he also looked at my pants at that time," Tengku Adnan laughed, according to mStar.

According to the report, Tengku Adnan raised the embarrassing incident on his own accord after seeing journalists sniggering when he walked into the press conference room after the Umno supreme council meeting today.

"Why are you smiling? Are you thinking about my underpants? Luckily I was wearing a white underpants. If it was a polka dot one, it would be even problematic," he joked.

He added that it was lucky that he was even wearing an underpants.

Tengku Adnan said he was not embarrassed by the incident as it was an accident.

He added that he had lost weight due to fasting during the month of Ramadan.

"Furthermore I also forgot to wear a belt. But I know there are some who liked it," he joked.

Also present during the incident that night were Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, his wife Rosmah Mansor, Selangor Umno chief Noh Omar and BN's winning candidate for the Sungai Besar by-election Budiman Mohd Zohdi.
