KINI ROUNDUP Here are the key headlines from yesterday you may have missed, in brief.

Bi-partisan denouncement of 'kafir harbi' call but MCA clams up

Gerakan president Mah Siew Keong says it is wrong for Pahang mufti Abdul Rahman Osman to label DAP 'kafir harbi', a term to mean hostile non-Muslims who can be slain for going against Islam.

However, MCA president Liow Tiong Lai clams up when asked on this, and says he will answer later.

DAP assemblyperson Howard Lee writes an open letter to Rahman to tell the mufti that his edict is putting Lee and the safety of other DAP members at risk.

Meanwhile, Amanah MP Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah Raja Ahmad says PAS leaders are sharing similar impunity over dangerous statements in their remarks against Amanah.

Muhyiddin mulls 'new political platform'

Sacked from Umno last Friday, former deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin says he is still mulling whether to set up a new political platform or to join an existing party, but he needs time to think.

Muhyiddin says this at a press conference, where Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar of PAS and Johor Amanah leaders Aminulhoda Hassan and Suhaizan Kaiat show up in solidarity.

Umno leaders, including Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Mohamad Hassan, say Muhyiddin and Mukhriz squandered their chances to make amends and Umno was wise to sack them.

Mukhriz warns of possible trade-off deal between Umno, PAS

Sacked Umno man and former Kedah menteri besar Mukhriz Mahathir suspects a trade-off deal is in the works between Umno and PAS.

Mukhriz believes there might be a deal involving the election outcome of Terengganu, Kelantan and Kedah, and warns that this could mean PAS taking over Kedah again.
