KINI ROUNDUP Here are the key headlines from yesterday you may have missed, in brief.

Cabinet reshuffle: Noh Omar in, Husni resigns, Rahman promoted

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak announced a reshuffle in the cabinet yesterday, which saw the number of ministers in the Prime Minister's Department cut down from 11 to nine.

Key changes include the Finance Minister II post, which is now occupied by first- term Titiwangsa MP and corporate figure Johari Abdul Ghani.

He replaces Husni Hanadzlah, who resigned for personal reasons.

Selangor Umno chief Noh Omar returns to the cabinet as Urban Well-being, Housing and Local Government Minister, replacing Abdul Rahman Dahlan who is promoted as Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of the Economic Planning Unit.

Abdul Rahman replaces former Maybank CEO Wahid Omar, who opted to return to the corporate world after his term in the Dewan Negara (Senate) expired.

Analysts say Noh's return signals Najib gearing up to wrest Selangor in the 14th general election, but Pakatan Harapan is unperturbed.

Cops in spotlight over next move on kafir harbi label

PKR Youth religious bureau chief Wan Ji Wan Hussin lodged a police report against Pahang mufti Abdul Rahman Osman for labelling DAP members kafir harbi (hostile non-believers) - a term which means they can be slain.

DAP's Puchong MP Gobind Singh Deo says inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar's silence on the matter is perplexing as the delcaration could lead to bloodshed.

However, MCA slammed DAP for attacking MCA instead of addressing the issue in a bipartisan manner, after MCA president Liow Tiong Lai zipped his lips on the matter.
