The new auditor for 1MDB will be announced soon, said Finance Ministry's Treasury secretary-general Irwan Serigar Abdullah, though he declined to comment on other 1MDB-related questions.

"This is way out of (relevance to the event). I don't want to respond to this, thank you," he said, when quizzed about 1MDB during a press conference at the closing ceremony for the 'Bahasa Inggeris 1Malaysia' programme in Kuala Lumpur today.

When met by reporters after the press conference and asked the same questions related to 1MDB's recent announcement that their 2013 and 2014 financial statements can no longer be relied upon, he merely said: "No comment".
