Unfortunately for PAS, onus on them to prove S’wak Report wrong

YOURSAY | ‘Until the claim is proven otherwise with cold hard facts, I'll be with Clare.’

Slander! S’wak Report incurs PAS' wrath with 'RM90m from Najib' claim

CQ Muar: PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, you are absolutely correct, the Almighty will punish all those who commit and indulge in such baseless slander, but will likewise not spare those who are found truly guilty.

I hope this will prompt PM Najib Abdul Razak to emulate your example by instituting legal action against Sarawak Report, too.

Just one other thing, Tuan Ibrahim, please remind Najib not to spare the US Justice Department (DOJ), too, for those scathing statements made to the world at its press conference.

No-Brainer: Tuan Ibrahim, have you checked and confirmed with your president Abdul Hadi Awang whether he had received the alleged RM90,000,000.00 in his personal bank account?

Maybe he had received it as a ‘donation’. Maybe this is the tip of an iceberg.

So far, Sarawak Report’s articles on a few other scandals have been very accurate, and those named had never dared to sue it.

Awakened: Tuan Ibrahim may not be aware that the money could have gone into PAS leaders ' personal account rather than PAS’ party account. PAS should sue if the party did not receive such money from Najib.

Anonymous 2405561458171517: Reporting on this matter will erode the people's trust in Sarawak Report's previous reports? What logic is this?

Would it not be simple logic that because of Sarawak Report's previous articles which eventually proved to be true, the people will be more inclined to believe this report, too?

Jaycee: Well, in all fairness, the PM had previously said the same thing; that Sarawak Report is not credible. But to date, it seems Sarawak Report remains credible and editor Clare Rewcastle-Brown is still awaiting the PM to sue.

So, there you have it. The majority of the rakyat tend to believe Sarawak Report as opposed to the local reports.

Odin Tajué: Tuan Ibrahim, here are the exact paragraphs pertaining to the matter at hand:

“Najib has worked to exploit the leaderless situation confronting the opposition ever since and BN/Umno smugly talk of divisions faced by the party they deliberately decapitated [jailing of Anwar Ibrahim].

“He has gone on to ‘woo’ the PAS Islamic party away from the opposition coalition in the normal way he woos - RM90 million is widely reckoned to have flowed into the top echelons of PAS in recent months (BN veterans would tell them they came cheap).

“To sugar matters further for PAS, Najib has gone on a crusade to show himself ‘more holy than thou’ on every PAS religious agenda, stirring up extremism in Malaysia and undermining civil law and institutions, without turning a single hair over the destabilising, divisive and dangerous consequences to his country and his own party.”

Do get a truly qualified lawyer - and not one struggling with English - to read the text and advise you if you have grounds to take action against the Sarawak Report.

If he says you do, institute your action in the UK, for you can be assured of the impartiality of the British courts and judges.

JusticeNow!: Don't hold your breath, Hadi is coming out with a different statement, it’s PAS’ standard operating procedure (SOP). How many times has Hadi contradicted Tuan Ibrahim?

Why does it sound so familiar, president terima ‘donation’, deputy has no knowledge.

Citizen_Zero: Indeed, Tuan Ibrahim, you can say what you will, and maybe you are confident about what you say. But Hadi will most probably veto you. Again. And your 'colleagues' will pretend they didn’t hear what you say. Again.

I admire you, Tuan Ibrahim, for standing on your hill of virtue, and espousing your virtuous principles, defending for whatever semblance of worth the three letter word PAS has. Alone.

But if you want to keep rolling that boring rock up that same hill, by all means it’s your choice. Given the track record of Sarawak Report, and until it is proven otherwise with cold hard facts, I'll be with Rewcastle-Brown.

And by the way, please investigate first before suing, because Professor Hanafiah Harun said you have to investigate the veracity of information from an infidel before believing it.

Vijay47: That would be a great start, Tuan Ibrahim, to sue Sarawak Report. But would Najib approve?

That would put him further on the hot spot for his own failure to see Sarawak Report, The Wall Street Journal, and countless others.

Not Convinced: Let’s not jump to conclusion. Rewcastle-Brown has clarified that the claim that Najib had wooed PAS with RM90 million was merely a "widespread suspicion".
