Police are tracking down a crane operator to assist investigations regarding the incident where a part of a crane fell and killed a woman in Jalan Raja Chulan in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

Kuala Lumpur CID chief SAC Rusdi Mohd Isa said until now, the crane operator, believed to be a foreign worker, had failed to make a police report about the incident.

"Police are still tracking him (crane operator) to facilitate investigations," he said.

In the 7.20pm incident, the victim, Chim Khoo Sing, 24, from Penang, was crushed to death after a part of the crane which weighed some 1,000kg fell onto her car.

According to police, the victim died at the scene due to severe injuries in the neck, chest and her right ribs.
