Gerakan today said other amendments to laws should be prioritised ahead of Marang MP Abdul Hadi Awang's private member's bill to amend the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965 (Act 355).

 

The bill is dubbed the hudud bill, as it could could pave the way for the implementation of the Islamic criminal law.

 

Echoing MCA, Gerakan president Mah Siew Keong said other government bills should be prioritised when Dewan Rakyat reconvenes next month.
