Attacks on Sarawak Report only add to its credibility

Funded by credit cards? Sarawak Report editor laughs off allegation

Mushiro: The attempts to discredit Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle-Brown that she received substantial funds to run her site is silly.

First they tried to discredit her investigative reports on 1MDB and when that did not work, they tried to discredit her and now they are looking at her source of funds. It only shows that her reports are explosive and damaging to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, and to 1MDB.

MVA: Well, if there are people sponsoring her, then I am sure most people would consider them to be good Samaritans, for funding her to expose illegal activities.

Victor Johan: To the administrator of Open Source Investigations (OSI), surely your group had done your own investigations. So, when are you going to reveal your investigation findings on the 1MDB scandal?

First and foremost, you can start by providing details of the elusive 'royal donor and/or representatives' who had deposited the large amount of money into the personal account of MO1 (Malaysian Official No 1).

What did he use 'some of the money' for, and also, who did he return 'the rest' of the money to?

Keturunan Malaysia: In my hometown we say, "Saksi kena gantong," (the witness got hanged). OSI, focus on the mosquitoes and not the mosquito net, please.

Headhunter: She has solid credibility. So what if someone wants to donate to her for providing a great service to our nation. As for OSI, it sounds like it is another one of those generously sponsored outfits that tried unsuccessfully to discredit her previously. Don't be surprised if the same people are involved.

Anonymous_4031c: Rewcastle-Brown, if you need help just ask. Many will donate to your good cause.

RCZ: You have our grateful thanks, Ms Rewcastle-Brown. You had single-handedly revealed the theft and kleptocracy that is 1MDB, which took place in Malaysia and withstood all pressure put on you by the crooks. Keep up the good work, for Malaysia needs people like you.

Bazooka: Yes, donations can be with credit cards: the donor simply agrees to donate a certain sum, and method of payment is by credit card. What's wrong with that? It's perfectly legal and above board. So what's the problem?

I learn a lot from Sarawak Report, which I'm not able to do from mainstream media in Malaysia. Thank you, Sarawak Report, go on reporting like you have always done.

Myop101: Najib said it is the biggest sin to demonise others. Did you hear that OSI?

Anubis: After watching Joshua Oppenheimer's intense docu-feature 'The Act of Killing' where he encouraged retired gangsters involved in the 1965 pogrom against the Chinese in Indonesia that took countless lives (some say one million, others 2.5 million), to re-enact their grisly genocidal crimes, I can perfectly understand the Umno warlord mindset.

The days of the 'Demon King' are over and soon these degenerate spawn of Asuras and Raksasas will be found only in anthropological museums.

Vijay47: It is hilariously revealing that this latest allegation against Rewcastle-Brown is in respect of financing through credit cards, a most unusual and even desperate form to try and link someone to. So far, there has been only one person, almost in the entire world, who has been accused of chalking up fabulous credit card expenses. So was this a Freudian slip?

Amah: Perhaps they would prefer she gets her donation from an Arab prince?

Justine Gow: More likely, it is OSI that is funded by prepaid credit cards.

MCA ridicules Azmin's defence of Anwar over Chinese schools

Hopeful123: Why didn't MCA tell off former education minister Anwar Ibrahim and Umno then and there, when these things allegedly took place? What was MCA doing? Why bring it up now? I am sure if Anwar was still in Umno/BN, MCA would never ever bring this matter up.

Tell the Truth: MCA, don't talk so much. What did you do to stop the move? You just talk but made no move to register your protest, like leaving BN en bloc.

Why are you still hanging on to your cosy little ministries, and after it was implemented you did nothing?

If it is true that Anwar has repented then, you should congratulate him for being repentant, which means he will make it right when he becomes PM. I will salute you the day you, MCA, leave BN.

Baldev Singh: MCA was part of the government then as is now. If MCA then and now has no say, why is it still part of the government?

MCA ministers are there for their own benefit. Soon Umno will take MCA's seats as there are fewer Chinese seats under the new redelineation. When are MCA members going to wake up from their slumber?

Perak Boleh: What MCA thought was wrong 25 years ago, why didn't MCA ask its  Umno master to rectify it, since Anwar was sacked in 1998? Another loose cannon firing blanks. MCA, get ready to be wiped out, come GE14.

Headhunter: If this is true, where was MCA during that time when Anwar was doing all that? Wasn't MCA sharing the same bed as Umno? If anyone was to blame, it had to be MCA, because it was supposed to look after Chinese interests, being a partner in the BN. Or was it just a eunuch?

Basically: When MCA points a finger at Anwar or Dr M, its four fingers, as well as all our fingers, point back at the party. During Operasi Lallang, what did MCA do? It was a plan to shut the Chinese up and you guys gleefully clapped because they sent your rivals to jail.

As if you all didn't know what was going on at the time!

Anonymous 2431851473756292: Putting the blame on one another won't solve the problem. To achieve unity, we need to put aside our own interests. Don't be selfish. Everybody should give their cooperation. Blaming others won't do.

Responsible Malaysian: Everybody knows the answers to unity, but no politician is willing to implement them, as nobody is willing to lose Malay votes.

Malays are fooled to believe that they are inferior to others and hence they fall into the trap of believing they need some heroes to defend them.

However, look at Malays who have migrated to other nations, they have all done very well.
