Bersih chairperson Maria Chin Abdullah has described the cash prize offered by a NGO to attract youths to register as voters as a reflection of the “pathetic” state of affairs in the nation.

"We really want to encourage voters to register on their own and not having to be paid or enter a competition.

"That (cash incentive) is really quite pathetic," Maria told a press conference in Petaling Jaya.
