Nazri: Muhyiddin desperate for PAS’ help

Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) president Muhyiddin Yassin is so desperate that he wants to work with PAS to topple Barisan Nasional (BN) in the 14th general election (GE14).

Umno supreme council member Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz said it clearly showed that Muhyiddin, who was deputy prime minister until he was dropped during a Cabinet reshuffle in July last year, wanted revenge.

“He was an Umno leader to the backbone, ostensibly fighting for Islam and the Malays and also willing to go against anyone who opposed the party,” he told reporters after opening the Padang Rengas-level National Sports Day in Padang Rengas today.

Yesterday, Muhyiddin at an event in Muar, Johor claimed to have the commitment from PAS to form a new opposition bloc in efforts to defeat BN in GE14.

Mohamed Nazri, who is also tourism and culture minister said the people were getting smarter and would not simply believe that Bersatu was getting PAS support.

On Jorak assemblyperson Shahruddin Salleh, who left Umno and was appointed Bersatu secretary-general, Mohamed Nazri said the former was also desperate and afraid he might not be nominated in GE14.
