MyWatch chairperson R Sri Sanjeevan’s allegation of corruption made against top police officers was done out of spite after action was taken against him in relation to several purported crimes.

Inspector-general of pollice Khalid Abu Bakar said Sanjeevan was angry with him for several police investigations initiated against him.

"I will not respond to his desperation. He has made a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and I leave it to them to investigate," Khalid is quoted as saying by theSundaily today.

Sanjeevan yesterday lodged a report against Khalid with the MACC over a mansion worth RM5.5 million in Mantin, Negri Sembilan, allegedly built by the top cop.

Urging the MACC to investigate the matter, Sanjeevan claimed that the house was supposedly sponsored by heads of illegal gambling syndicates.

Since his arrest for allegedly extorting RM25,000 from a businessman, Sanjeevan had vowed that he would expose the wrongdoings of the police force.

He was re-arrested for other offences after his release and was later charged with several offences.

Police last week seized his BMW and his motorcycles during a raid on his home. Police said they were investigating him under the Anti-Money Laundering Act.
