Najib’s wrong, GE14 a choice between fear and hope

YOURSAY | ‘DAP will not have more than 50 seats, even if it wins all the seats it is contesting.’

PM: GE soon, choice between Umno and DAP-led governments

Rupert16: PM Najib Abdul Razak is trying to hoodwink the rakyat yet again. The choice at GE14 is not between an Umno-led government and DAP-led government because DAP will not have more than 50 seats (out of 222 seats) even if it wins all the seats the party is to contest.

GE14 is about re-electing a very corrupt Umno-led government that has brought shame to all of us and makes us all poorer or a new government with the opportunities to reform our country to forge a better future for ourselves and our future generations.

Anonymous_1421806811: Najib is extremely worried, not because of DAP, but his own political demise and probably imprisonment, and will use his Grand Master spinning skills to hoodwink the delegates.

While the Chinese in Malaysia are getting more and more united, the Malays under his leadership have been split asunder. Never in the history of Malaysia have the Malays been so divided. Even Perkasa has plans to field its own candidates in the next GE.

Perhaps we should thank Najib. Without his poor leadership, the Malays would not be divided. Without his scandals, we will not be able to know how corrupt Umno has become, and without his mastery at spinning, we would not have known that Umno has degenerated.

Discerning Reader: The choice at GE14 is a government led by a team of politicians who are corrupt and dishonest, as opposed by another multi-ethnic group at the helm with the hope of bringing credibility back to the country, which is currently a laughing stock to the world community, especially when our government officials are allegedly involved in money laundering and racketeering that brought down two Swiss banks.

It has never been about race or religion, and the existing government uses race and religion to try and garner support from the Malay community; being full aware that without support from them, it will seal their doom in the next GE.

Responsible Malaysian: Many capable Malays have migrated to other countries. They have heard enough promises from the ruling parties but at the end, they realised that corruption is the main "achievement" in our beloved nation.

ABC123: As usual, Najib is using the DAP/Chinese bogeyman to scare the Malays.

It’s the same old tactic. Since it works, they keep using it. This is why political parties cannot save Malaysia. Only the Malays can save Malaysia.

The only question is whether they are willing to set aside their prejudices and put the country first. So far, it does not seem like it.

Umno man: Malays big-hearted to forgive past wrongs of Chinese, Indians

Trueglitter: It is utterly dismaying to acknowledge the abysmal lack of sensitivity when the Umno delegate from Kelantan, Mohd Syahbuddin Hashim, along with other delegates were supposedly celebrating the annual Umno general assembly, when the latter opportunistically took the occasion to take a swipe at the ethnic minorities for alleged past misadventures towards the Malays.

Admittedly, the current and recent Umno AGMs have seemingly undergone much changes, with a different and more aggressive approach by targeting particularly their opponents and accusers who had dared and had spared no efforts to openly condemned Najib and his Umno cronies for alleged corruption and blatant abuse of power.

Regrettably, the apparent verbal display of animosity towards the DAP by the overzealous Mohd Shahbuddin would be deemed counter-productive as it would serve to distract and conceal the alleged misdeeds perpetrated by Najib, effectively unravelled by DAP.

Goldee: Without the Thais, Indians and Chinese who came here to trade, our country would still be like Cambodia and Laos, a Third World country.

We could have already achieved a developed nation status if not for people with mentality of Umno delegates like Mohd Syahbuddin and Khairul Azwan Harun.

The fault with the Chinese from China then was they were never interested in politics. Their priority was on trade and they never thought to stay in this Bolehland for longer than a day, so to speak. Meanwhile, many Indians had sacrificed and contributed to developing the country.

Many had died while constructing the ‘death’ railway lines. Most, if not all roads, were built by southern Indians. They worked in the rubber estates, the Chinese worked in the tin mines. Had it not for the Indians and Chinese, this country would not be what is today.

May we know what had the Chinese and Indians done wrong to this country? Those who speak against them are ignorant of Malayan history.

Oscar Kilo: "Trust me, if the government falls, there's no guarantee we can come back to power even within seven generations," said Mohd Syahbuddin.

What a sad and ignorant statement. Firstly, it's not the government that falls. It's Umno that falls. Umno is not the government. Umno is just a political party.

Secondly, in a healthy democracy, any party has the right to win, and voters have the right to choose any party. The playing field is kept as level as possible. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Just look at the US, UK, Australia, Japan, etc.

Has one party been in power for decades? In the US, sometimes Republicans win, sometimes Democrats win. In Malaysia, only Umno wins.

Praying for traitors to be kept at bay, Najib vows to fight till death

Anonymous 122461436161429: Finally, and as per the norm, Umno invokes the name of God when nothing else works. And by the way, Mr PM, the country is already in the hands of traitors and the wicked.

We can't seem to get rid of these traitors. And the ones telling untruths and are being dishonest are the current leaders and the members sitting in this sick assembly of Umno.

YHJ: Vengeance is mine, says the Lord. Yes, we need your divine intervention to punish the wicked money launderers who stole unashamedly from the rakyat. The corrupt and cruel leaders who bask in the glory of their evil deeds.

May God bless the people of Malaysia by helping us get rid of such a regime.

Richard-D: Am I missing something? Do these conferences ever discuss political policies and how to advance the country? Any debate about healthcare, the environment, poverty reduction and issues that can benefit the wider community?
