Chosen One using religion against his nemesis?

YOURSAY | ‘Mohamad Rafi, which part of Dr M’s remarks has insulted the Prophet?’

Report lodged over Dr M's prophet remark

Vote 4 Justice Vote 4 Truth: “Former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad said there were remarks made during the Umno general assembly which likened Najib to a prophet. ‘But the prophet of Islam doesn't have RM2.6 billion in his accounts and 1MDB,’ said Mahathir.”

Pertubuhan Nadi Rakyat Malaysia president Mohamad Rafi Awg Kechik said Mahathir had effectively insulted the prophet of Islam and Muslims by uttering such remarks. How does that insult the prophet? I just don't get it.

Ericomc: Mohamad Rafi, which part of Dr M’s remarks has insulted the Prophet?

In fact, the Prophet is the holiest and the most righteous man. Therefore, for Najib (who is hit by RM2.6 billion and other scandals), to say he is following the teaching of the Prophet and for DPM Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to say Najib as "chosen" by Allah to be PM have actually insulted the Prophet and Muslim Malaysians (excluding Umno Muslims).

The one who has committed blasphemy is Najib as well as Zahid, not Dr M. Is there any true Muslim out there to make a police report against those Umno leaders who uttered those words?

Chipmunk: This is absurd. You mean to say that even mentioning the name of the prophet is now considered in violation of the Penal Code and Sedition Act?

As far as I can recall, Umno has said Najib was the “Chosen One”.

Isn't that seditious, or is it that the law only applies to everyone other than those from Umno?

Mushiro: How did Najib say he chose to adhere to the teachings of the Prophet, who emphasised on the need to be civil even with foes?

This is misleading as Najib meant that he was adhering to the teachings of the prophet when in fact he did not follow the teachings of the prophet concerning corruption, stealing, cheating etc.

Anonymous #33227154: This is a classic example of using religion to oppress people. It's all up to one’s personal agenda and interpretation.

While one party can use God and religion liberally, another party is banned from referring to religion at all.

Anonymous_3f4b: Najib should stop being the nice man that he is, and throw down the gauntlet at Mahathir. Charge him in court for disturbing the peace and creating unrest that threatens national security.

Better still, lock him up under Sosma and throw away the keys.

Invitation to Dr M for Agong's installation 'withdrawn'

VeraCruz: This is more embarrassing to the rulers than it is to Mahathir and by implication, the former has to do something on this.

If they don't, then they are conceding that they can be manipulated by politicians. It is not rocket science as to who is behind this caper. Daulat Tuanku.

Anonymous_1371727574: This is outrageous, how can they do that (uninviting Mahathir from attending the installation of the new king)?

All past PM should be invited. This must be under the instruction of MO1 (Malaysian Official 1). Dr M's contribution to our beloved country is not to be ignored despite some of his wrongdoings.

The Rover: Dr M should attend the ceremony. It is his right - and he should stand throughout the ceremony if necessary.

We shall see then what the sultans have to say about the outrageous manner in which Dr M is being treated by MO1.

Kneazle: I met a Malay man while attending my daughter's graduation in US. He was doing his Masters in Forensic Science and brought along his wife and one-year-old daughter.

He sold his house and car when Umno politicians didn't help him because he was not a member. To further support his studies and family, he worked as a janitor sweeping and cleaning the toilet while his wife work as an office general worker at the university.

She supplemented by selling home-cooked food during weekends to Malaysian students who were all Chinese and one Indian.

He was determined to complete his Masters and begin his life in US because Malaysia didn't want him when he needed it. My respect for his determination.

This is a case of multiple hands inside various cookie jars and then wrapped these under Official Secrets Act (OSA). Umno's modus operandi.

RM2.6 Billion Turkey Haram: Mahathir is in fact glorifying the Prophet. He is implying that the Prophet is an absolutely clean man, free of corruption and greed.

Trump's 'cancel order' tweet wipes US$1b off Boeing's market value

Vijay47: This news article about US president-elect Donald Trump's ‘Missing Presidential Plane’ is both encouraging and distressing.

Heartening since it informs that the president of the US also is given to using Twitter, which should send a certain inspector-general of police (IGP) of even a country like Malaysia into rapture.

Disturbing because an almost RM18 billion order is being cancelled, throwing cold water on potential similar plans in Malaysia where such a proposal would have given immeasurable opportunities to rape the project.

Heck, they could have even slipped in a second airborne palace for Her Eminence.

GE14Now!: The Malaysian version would be to tell Boeing that US$4 billion is too low and there will have to be more 'cost overruns', which will of course find its way into some willing pockets.

Boeing has nothing to fear if Trump cancels that particular order as there is a certain wife here who would love nothing more than to fly around the world with that jet. So many handbags to buy and so little time.

SusahKes: Glad to see the president-elect talk about cost-cutting, instead of celebrating the falling price of kangkong.

VeraCruz: Mr President-Elect, expect a call from a dear friend of yours. It's about a toy that he wants to take off your hands.
